Woman Arrested for Threatening Mass Shooting, Referencing ‘Delay, Deny, Depose’ Tactics Against Healthcare Agent Who Denied Her Claim – One America News Network

A woman in Florida has been charged for allegedly threatening an act of terrorism following a dispute over a denied medical claim. The individual reportedly issued threats to an insurance agent upon learning her claim had been rejected.

Briana Boston, aged 42, was arrested after she warned a Blue Cross Blue Shield representative, “Delay, deny, depose. You people are next,” in response to her medical claim denial.
This threat from Boston referenced Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old accused shooter who fatally wounded UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4th in Midtown Manhattan. According to police, the shell casings recovered from his ghost gun bore similar phrases and a “motto.”
This shocking national incident has sparked widespread media coverage and ignited discussions regarding the perceived exploitative practices of for-profit healthcare companies.
Both Boston’s and Mangione’s statements are derived from a book by Jay Feinman, an emeritus professor at Rutgers Law School, titled “Delay, Deny, Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don’t Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It.”
Published in 2010, the book examines the “abuse of auto and home insurance” and explores how companies may manipulate their processes to evade paying legitimate claims.
Following the threat, Lakeland police visited Boston’s residence. She subsequently admitted to her actions, expressing regret. Boston remarked that she used those words due to their prevalence in the news, asserting she did not possess any firearms and had no real intention of committing violence.
Furthermore, affidavit documents indicate Boston claimed that healthcare companies “deserve karma from the world because they are evil,” according to her statements.
Interestingly, after the December 4th murder, there was some public sympathy toward the alleged shooter. Certain social media discussions suggested that Thompson, a father of two, “deserved to be killed” due to his role in the perceived “predatory denial of medical claims.”
Additionally, a manifesto authored by Mangione has recently come to light. In it, he elucidated his motivations for the fatal shooting of Thompson at point-blank range.
“I do apologize for any strife of traumas, but it had to be done,” wrote Mangione. “Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming.”
“The U.S. has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, and Walmart. It has continued to grow, yet what about our life expectancy? The truth is, these [indecipherable] have simply become too powerful, continuing to exploit our country for enormous profit because the American public has [allowed] them to evade accountability,” he continued.
“At this stage, it’s not merely an issue of awareness but evidently a game of power at play. Clearly, I am among the first to confront it with such brutal honesty,” he added.
Boston’s bail is set at $100,000, and she faces up to 15 years in prison.
