Woman from Texas Faces Charges for Threatening to Kill Judge in Trump Case

A woman from Texas, Abigail Jo Shry, has been arrested and charged with threatening to kill the judge overseeing former President Trump’s criminal case in Washington, D.C. Shry allegedly left a threatening voicemail for U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, in which she used racial slurs, threatened to kill anyone who went after Trump, and targeted the LGBTQ community and Democrats in Washington, D.C. Shry also threatened Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee. She has admitted to leaving the voicemail and has been charged with transmitting a threat across state lines. Shry has a history of similar conduct and has been held without bond. The judge in Trump’s case, Chutkan, has received enhanced security due to accusations of bias and calls for her recusal. Shry is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing in September.
