Year of the Rabbit 2023

The Chinese zodiac is an ever-repeating, 12-year astrological cycle represented by a specific zodiac animal each year.

In 2023, the forward-looking “Rabbit” influence will preside for clarity and focus in managing affairs and goals.

In the Chinese zodiac model of how energy flows and nature grows in the “Cycle of Life,” the Rabbit embodies the wood element’s organizing influence on the creative process. Growth and development are hallmark characteristics of the wood element influence in nature. Once an idea is born or a task initiated, its route to fruition must be mapped out.

Nature “springs into action” with the Tiger energy now followed by the Rabbit’s organizing influence to direct the energy for purpose and manifestation. Destination and the making of a “thing” is a fine-tuning process that involves good reasoning skills, keen attention to details, and “sorting things out”—all within the purview of the clever Rabbit mind.

While the 2022 Water Tiger’s enthusiasm for getting-er-done carries over to this Rabbit year, Rabbit’s optimism is more cautious and its determination more disciplined—a good thing because the creative process requires constant reassessment and tweaking. One should not be reckless in pursuit of a goal.

Throughout history in many cultures, the Rabbit has been considered a springtime animal and signifies rebirth, resurrection, and a new lease on life. Its reputation for fertility and fruitfulness suggests this social bunny is pleasant to be around, will surely have many friends, and loves a good time. Bunnies do prefer the camaraderie of others—but don’t mistake their easy-going nature for fun-over-business because the astute Rabbit always has a finger on the pulse and will surprise you with their brilliance.

With Rabbit’s industrious influence, look to 2023 to be a productive and fruitful year. As 2023 is the year of the Water Rabbit specifically, the powerful water influence upon the already busy Rabbit adds momentum and desire into the destination equation—so hop like a bunny and get moving because the Force is with you this year.

The Year of the Rabbit holds the promise of progress and abundance and is a good year to get your ducks in a row and check off your to-dos. It’s a powerful time for self-assessment and growth—to determine what is working and not working—and make changes. Pay Rabbit-attention to your surrounding environment and be razor focused on the details. Energy must flow freely, so tweak away.

If your work or project involves other people, using Rabbit’s spirit of good fellowship in the workplace will increase collaboration, efficiency, and overall productivity. Enjoy your friends, bounce to parties—but use temperance in all your affairs. Trust your instincts and be Rabbit-cautious this year.

With the Rabbit influence at your side in 2023 expect great strides towards reaching your goals—challenges are inevitable, but an essential part of growth that remind us that the more disciplined we are, the better our year will be.
