Zeldin tells Newsmax: Democrats Responsible for Border Crisis
Former Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., states that Democratic policies are responsible for the immigration crisis in New York.
Zeldin made these remarks during an appearance on Newsmax’s “Carl Higbie: FRONTLINE,” where he highlighted the strain on shelters, healthcare, and education in New York due to the influx of migrants.
He further emphasized that the current situation was not an accident, but rather a deliberate plan. Zeldin criticized President Biden’s actions such as stopping the construction of the border wall and ending policies like Remain in Mexico and Title 42, which he believes led to the crisis at the border.
Customs and Border Protection reported that the surge of migrants crossing the southern border is causing financial strain on the agency, with around 12,600 migrants intercepted on Monday and Tuesday alone.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is urging President Biden to take executive action on border security, including restarting the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall and implementing stricter immigration enforcement policies.
Zeldin believes that the Biden administration has the power to secure the border and criticized their perceived lack of action on the issue.
