Alejandro Mayorkas Claims NJ Drone Sightings Are Not a Concern — Why We Have Every Reason to Doubt Him
Rest assured, America, those enigmatic drones hovering over New Jersey (and now appearing in other states) are perfectly fine! . . . claims Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Yet, is the Biden administration intentionally stirring up panic with these statements?
“We are not aware of any foreign involvement concerning the sightings in the northeast,” Mayorkas stated on ABC as he pushed the ALL IS WELL narrative — during an appearance where he also attributed the increase in sightings to the FAA’s rule change on drone flights in September 2023.
But wait. A rule change from fall 2023 does not account for a significant surge more than a year later.
If this (following a similarly unimpressive response from White House spokesperson John Kirby last week) represents the best the Biden team can offer, it’s no shock that people are increasingly anxious.
Furthermore, his cheerful rhetoric on ABC followed a CNN appearance where Mayorkas suggested that the unsuspecting citizens of Jersey were at fault for noticing unusual phenomena in the night skies.
“There may indeed be drones present in the sky, of course, but those are commercially available. You can walk into a convenience store and purchase a small drone,” he remarked. “However, we are not aware of any threats or malicious activities.”
The reality is, there’s little reason for the public to trust Mayorkas’s claims about “nefarious activity” — even if he is sincere.
His entire time in office has been characterized by misleading the public about obvious issues — namely, the significant surge in illegal border crossings.
The border is secure: How many times has Mayorkas proclaimed this over the last four years, while millions of unauthorized individuals entered the country?
How often did he and his fellow Biden officials urge citizens to ignore the evidence of their own eyes?
And now he expects Americans to accept his assurances that the lights in the night sky are simply aircraft, convenience store drones, swamp gas, or weather balloons, and certainly not the actions of a foreign entity (or any other wrongdoer) taking advantage of a weakened Biden administration.
Sorry, Mr. Secretary. You’ve lost that trust long ago.
And Americans have every reason to doubt your claims that their skies, or their borders, are secure.
