Anderson Cooper’s Lesson on Pronouns Highlights a Challenge for Democrats

Amid the turmoil surrounding Trump’s tariffs, the Democrats are still struggling to find their footing. They seem to be aimlessly wandering in the desert, devoid of a direction, insight, or effective leadership.

In their quest for a solid base, politicians are engaging in Q&As, rallies, and podcasts. However, they could save considerable time and resources by simply viewing an 18-second clip from a CNN town hall that aired on Wednesday.

This may very well be the most significant segment of footage highlighting the Dems’ recent performance.

Attorney Grace Thomas corrected Anderson Cooper regarding her pronouns while posing a question at a CNN town hall featuring Sen. Bernie Sanders. CNN

Host Anderson Cooper, alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders, introduces a woman from the audience, stating, “I’d like to introduce Grace Thomas. She’s a local civil rights attorney and a Democrat.”

At this moment, there’s a sudden pause.

Thomas admonishes Cooper, adopting a self-important tone to state, “It’s actually they/them pronouns.”

Then, lacking any self-awareness but exuding an air of superiority, the attorney laments that “men across all racial backgrounds are disengaging from the Democratic Party. But notably, white men, in particular, feel that the DNC‘s messaging does not resonate with their concerns.”

Interesting, isn’t it?

Anderson Cooper experienced an awkward moment when corrected for misgendering an audience member. CNN

“Should progressive campaigns develop policies and communication strategies that more effectively reach these voters? And if so, how can they achieve this without neglecting marginalized voters of color and gender?” asks Thomas, who undeniably presents as female — not even close to the ambiguous territory reminiscent of Pat from “Saturday Night Live.”

But Thomas essentially answered her own question before it was fully articulated. The reality became apparent when she flashed her badge as a prominent member of the pronoun police, issuing Cooper a citation for misgendering.

This woman embodies the current state of the Democrat party: so consumed by her surreal fantasies and fixations on identity that she fails to recognize that the focus on “they/them” may be counterproductive.

Sanders acknowledged that the Dems have missed the mark on certain economic issues. However, he chose to entertain Thomas rather than being as firm as he is when discussing economic matters. CNN

It seems men from all backgrounds, as well as many women, are turned off by being lectured by individuals who, armed with advanced degrees, feel the need for plural pronouns.

If the party that once advocated for the working class wishes to regain its footing, they must return to fundamentals. Instead of clinging to Identitarianism and nonsensical labels, they should propose substantive ideas.

Genuine ideas that improve the lives of real people, rather than simply opposing the concept of a gender binary, which resolves nothing but provides an overeducated, privileged individual an opportunity to check a minority box.

While some Democrats, like John Fetterman and Gavin Newsom, have acknowledged the necessity of reverting to common sense, much of the ultra-progressive left continues to prepare for the victimhood Olympics — even though the event was officially canceled following the November elections.

Consider Sanders’ response. He admitted that Dems have faltered on certain economic fronts. Yet, instead of confronting Thomas, he indulged her.

“I believe we must eradicate all forms of bigotry,” he stated. He should have been forthright: that an obsession with identity is a significant political burden.

During the last election, the Dems’ estrangement from male voters was palpable. To mend the divide that James Carville termed “too many preachy women,” Kamala Harris selected eccentric Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, whom the party attempted to present as some Midwestern tough-guy capable of hunting as skillfully as he hugs.

However, Americans saw through Walz’s performance, leading Trump to a significant victory over Harris, particularly among male voters.

To regain the trust of male voters and reach the promised land, the Democrats must completely dismantle and defund the pronoun police.
