Andrew Cuomo’s Mayoral Campaign: Letters to the Editor
The Topic: The possibility of former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s return as mayor of New York City.
Michael Goodwin accurately portrays former Governor Andrew Cuomo and the dismal state of the current Democratic Party (“Man who helped destroy the city,” March 19).
The far-left candidates vying for mayor often compete to outdo each other’s radicalism, while the inept Mayor Adams and now the brazen Cuomo demonstrate how Democrats are failing this city and state. Portraying Cuomo as a rescuer—when he should have faced justice three years ago—resembles celebrating Jack the Ripper as London’s guardian.

Before the COVID-19 nursing home crisis he caused, Cuomo already made statements that should disqualify him from any public role: He proclaimed America “was never that great.”
If he lacks pride in the country of his birth and has no regard for its citizens or the legacy of those who built it, he should not be allowed to represent us.

How about this: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and The Bronx secede and establish the new state of New Amsterdam, electing King Andrew—the very man who harmed the city—to reign as governor.
It’s a win-win. The city gets what it deserves, Cuomo fulfills his ambitions, Governor Hochul is removed, and the rest of New York state can finally begin to rebuild.

Cuomo’s harassment scandals are trivial when compared to the unnecessary deaths stemming from his poor leadership.
This egomaniac even had the nerve to publish a book boasting of his leadership during COVID, profiting millions from a disaster he created. How can New Yorkers be deceived once more?

Can you envision Cuomo as mayor while Hochul remains governor, leaving New Yorkers stuck in the middle?
As actor William Bendix used to say on his television show: “What a revolting development this is!”

The Subject: The ongoing conflict of authority between the Trump administration and federal judges.
As Miranda Devine highlights in her article about activist judges employing lawfare to undermine President Trump’s MAGA agenda, it’s time for the Supreme Court to intervene and stop this injustice (“Trump fights vile judicial push,” March 20).
The citizens of this nation voted for Trump to put into action the policies he promised. According to the Constitution, the Executive Branch possesses the authority to implement such policies.
We all know that Democrats are supporting these judges as it is their last tactic to impede Trump. However, the public disapproves, and SCOTUS must put a stop to this.

I am a lifelong reader of the Post and am increasingly troubled by Miranda Devine’s recent column criticizing federal judges.
An independent judiciary is crucial for the separation of powers enshrined in our Constitution. This separation is designed to curb executive overreach and prevent the legislature from enacting unconstitutional laws.
While the judiciary may not be flawless, it is certainly not a puppet of the president or the “radical left”—a recurring target of Devine’s fearmongering.
