Biden Continues to Push Civil-Rights Narrative in Hopes of Re-election
President Biden gave a major campaign address and repeated a lie that he’s already admitted isn’t true. He spoke about the threat of “white supremacy” during a visit to the Bethel AME Church in Charleston, SC, where Dylan Roof shot nine black churchgoers dead in 2015.
He claimed he had “spent more time in the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Del., than most people I know, black or white” and “that’s where I started a civil rights movement.” However, this claim has been debunked multiple times, and Biden himself has admitted he wasn’t involved in the civil-rights movement.
His own veep has criticized his history on racial issues, and his lies about his past raise questions about his sincerity in addressing “white supremacy” now. This is not the first time he has used lies to gain support, and it’s a pattern that is both disgraceful and sad.
