Biden Justice Department Accused of Acting Like a Banana Republic After FBI Raid on Polymarket

The Biden Justice Department has chosen to depart as it arrived: using its power as a weapon against those it sees as political adversaries.

This is the view of the FBI raid on Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan, which occurred at 6 a.m. on Wednesday when agents stormed his home to confiscate his phone and other devices.

Why?

Officially, it was part of a criminal investigation into Polymarket’s alleged breach of an agreement made with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission by allowing US users to bet on politics using VPNs.

This seems like an excessive action for an early morning raid. Typically, one would first contact the individual’s legal representation.

Given the Justice Department’s track record since 2021, it’s easy to interpret this as politically motivated persecution until proven otherwise.

For instance, consider how the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago over Trump’s handling of classified documents, while similar actions by President Biden were treated with significantly less attention. 

Attorney General Merrick Garland went to great lengths to protect Hunter Biden until a judge intervened. 

Despite evidence of Hunter’s misconduct, the FBI is now acting against a betting platform for lacking VPN protections.

Is this really a law enforcement priority?

It appears that Coplan’s true offense was running a company that allowed bets on Trump winning the election, which contradicted the Democratic narrative.

This raid reflects the disturbing willingness of today’s Democratic elite to engage in political persecution against those they disagree with.

This tarnishes Biden’s final days in office as his administration solidifies a legacy of lawlessness before his departure.
