Biden’s alleged agreement with Hamas is seen as a betrayal of Israel
Joe Biden’s actions last night represented a betrayal of Israel.
After Hamas announced that they had agreed to a ceasefire proposal, there were celebrations in Gaza and the White House indicated that they were “reviewing” the deal.
However, the Israelis were completely unaware of any agreement being made.
The terms of the supposed agreement were changed by Hamas to be more favorable to the terror group. For example, instead of exchanging hostages for Palestinian prisoners, Hamas planned to surrender the dead bodies of the hostages they had killed.
Hamas, with the assistance of negotiators in Egypt and Qatar, attempted to manipulate the situation to make it seem like Israel was rejecting a ceasefire they were never informed of. This manipulation was eagerly embraced by anti-Israel protesters in the US and a compliant media.
What makes the situation even more shameful is that Axios reports that the US was aware of the Hamas deal but did not brief Israeli officials.
According to Israeli officials, they feel as though they were deceived by the US and mediators in drafting a new deal without transparency.
Just as the US is willing to give Iran everything they want in the nuclear deal, Biden appears willing to bend over backwards for Hamas to satisfy those who oppose Israel on the left.
However, the decision to push through an agreement without Israel’s input and allowing Hamas to dictate terms is unacceptable. This aligns the US with terrorists who have committed violent acts against Israel.
It comes as no surprise that Israel initiated its Rafah operation last night. In the absence of support from its supposed “closest ally,” Israel had no choice but to act against this threat to its existence.
Biden had the opportunity to be a proactive partner in addressing this issue, but instead, he will be remembered as a traitor to a friend.
