Biden’s Exaggerations Reflect the Liberal Mindset
By now, it is evident that President Joe Biden has a habit of exaggerating his own experiences and telling false stories about himself. This is not uncommon among politicians, as many indulge in self-promotion to satisfy their egos and ambitions. However, Biden takes it to another level by repeatedly plagiarizing the words and experiences of others throughout his career. He has claimed to have been raised in various communities, from a black church to synagogues, a Polish community, and even a Puerto Rican community. He also falsely stated that he taught political theory at the University of Pennsylvania when he never set foot in the classroom. These are just a few examples of his fabrications, including false claims about being a civil rights activist, getting arrested with Nelson Mandela in South Africa, and being at Ground Zero on 9/11. Biden’s son Beau’s cause of death is also misrepresented, as he passed away from cancer in the United States, not in Iraq as Biden suggests. While Biden is an extreme example, his fictional tales of greatness are representative of liberal politicians in general. Other notable instances include Hillary Clinton falsely claiming she was named after mountaineer Sir Edmund Hillary, even though he became famous six years after her birth. Clinton also made up a story about being under fire at an airport in Bosnia, which was proven false through video footage. Additionally, Bill Clinton fabricated memories of witnessing black churches being burned in his childhood, despite no evidence of such incidents in his area. John Kerry faced backlash for exaggerating his Vietnam War record during the 2004 presidential campaign, and Al Gore famously claimed to have invented the internet. Biden’s gaffes and false statements continue even now, with recent examples including his rambling press conference in Vietnam where he ended it by saying, “I’m going to bed.” He also falsely claimed to have been at Ground Zero the day after 9/11 in a speech in Alaska and lied about teaching political theory at UPenn. These instances highlight the tendency of liberal politicians to create mythical stories centered around themselves and their supposed greatness. In contrast, Ronald Reagan’s embellished stories were often about America and the strength of the American character. Liberal politicians’ false narratives stem from their worldview, where they see themselves as agents of progress and believe in their own unlimited power. While Biden may stand out with his self-aggrandizement, it aligns with a creed that relies on self-affirmation to validate their assumptions of goodness and control.
