Biden’s latest regulation regarding Ukraine’s utilization of US weaponry falls short in assisting the country in achieving victory.

According to news reports, the Biden administration has finally made a new policy regarding the use of weapons provided to Ukraine, months after most countries removed restrictions.

However, this decision, made after a long delay, falls short of what is needed to help Ukraine in its war against Russia.

With the conflict now a decade old, this should have been done years ago to provide Ukraine with greater support.

The limitations imposed on Ukraine’s use of US-provided weapons are far more restrictive compared to what the US or NATO would allow for their own combat missions.

Despite facing near-disaster in cities like Kharkiv, Ukraine has been unable to effectively retaliate against Russia due to the limitations on the use of weapons.

Over the past six weeks, Russia has incrementally taken control of territory in northeastern Ukraine, while Ukraine has been left with limited options to defend itself.

The Biden administration’s decision to allow Ukraine to use shorter-range munitions comes with extensive prohibitions, limiting Ukraine’s ability to effectively respond to Russian attacks.

This new policy severely restricts the types of targets Ukraine can strike and prohibits deep strikes into Russia, ultimately putting Ukrainian forces at risk.

By not permitting Ukraine to use long-range weapons, the Biden administration is essentially signaling to Russia that it has the upper hand in the conflict.

In the end, this limited policy change might lead to a prolonged conflict and gives Russia an advantage over Ukraine, which is tragic for Ukraine and the world.
