Brad Lander’s Lack of Understanding about Israel Exposed, Biden Takes a Stand Against Islamophobia Amid Rising Anti-Semitism and More

Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions

This tweet:

We say: What a weasel. Yes, Rep. Cori Bush belatedly backed a resolution condemning Hamas and calling for hostages to be freed — but only after blowback from her own bill, which failed to do either and instead demanded a cease-fire that would leave Hamas able to strike Israel again.

Bush was also one of only a few lawmakers to vote against a stronger bill that not only condemned Hamas but expressed steadfast support for Israel.

Now she wants to have it both ways.

This column:

“Safety for both Israelis and Palestinians will require political compromise.”

— City Comptroller Brad Lander, Friday

We say: Boy, is he ever clueless — and morally confused.

Both sides compromise? Hamas wants every inch of Israel, “from the river to the sea,” free of Jews. It won’t hear of “compromise.”

Nor is the terrorists’ savage murder of 1,400 Israelis a “both sides” moment.

Lander also calls for an end to “Israeli military occupation.” He must’ve missed the news: Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005; the only one “occupying” it is Hamas.

This announcement:

“The Biden-Harris administration will develop our nation’s first national strategy to counter Islamophobia.”

— VP Kamala Harris, Wednesday

We say: Antisemitism in America is skyrocketing in the wake of Hamas’ attack, reaching “historic levels,” as FBI boss Chris Wray warned Tuesday.

So, of course, on Wednesday, Team Biden unrolls a strategy to combat . . . Islamophobia.

This report:

“In Protests Against Israel Strikes, G.O.P. Sees ‘Woke Agenda’ at Colleges”

The New York Times, Wednesday

We say: The Times just can’t report anything without promoting or defending its left-wing agenda. And slamming the right.

Republicans aren’t the only ones disgusted by antisemitism at US colleges and the culture that produced it; donors of all stripes are threatening to halt contributions.

Lawyers (usually in bed politically with Democrats) and others are threatening to blacklist antisemitic students.

Jew-hatred shouldn’t be a partisan issue, but for the Times, everything is partisan.
