CBS needs to publish the complete Kamala Harris transcript in order to meet their own established criteria

Even the Harris-Walz campaign has distanced itself from CBS’s controversial editing of Bill Whitaker’s interview with the Democratic nominee. The network’s only chance of restoring any credibility is to release the full transcript.

As previously noted, CBS altered the “full video” to mask Kamala Harris’ inadequate responses to Whitaker’s professional questioning.

They initially released an unedited version to promote the interview, only to air a deceptive version that misrepresented Harris’ answer to a question about Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu. The transcript CBS later released also omitted parts of her response.

What else was omitted, both in the video and in print?

The public deserves to know the whole truth.

Considering how poorly Harris appeared even after CBS’s deceptive editing, this might be her last major interview before Election Day. The network has a responsibility to share the entire interview with the public.

Former CBS reporter Catherine Herridge points out that the network previously released a raw transcript of her interview with Donald Trump in 2020. CBS News claims to be committed to providing high-quality journalism and holding elected officials accountable through unbiased reporting. Keeping the full transcript hidden goes against these principles. It’s time to release it.
