Celebrate Israel! Biden must support Israel’s actions against Iran
Hooray for the good guys!
Israel, with the help of allies, successfully intercepted 99% of the 300-plus attack drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles that Iran launched at it over the weekend.
This is a remarkable victory!
Praise is due to President Biden and the leaders of France, Britain, and even Jordan for their efforts in repelling this egregious attack.
Israeli civilians experienced fear and uncertainty as they rushed to shelters in the late hours, unsure of the impending threat from the missiles and drones.
Thankfully, only a few managed to cause minimal damage, but tragically, a 7-year-old was seriously injured.
However, such a massive direct attack by Iran may have been avoided if not for the catastrophic policies of the Biden administration.
Moreover, it cannot be left without a response.
President Biden should be supporting an Israeli response instead of obstructing it.
Tehran had threatened to retaliate against Israel following an Israeli airstrike on an Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards base in Damascus that resulted in the death of a key Iranian commander, Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
Zahedi was responsible for leading operations by Hezbollah and coordinating with other terrorist groups, suspected of being involved in attacks against Israelis and U.S. soldiers.
The media incorrectly portrays Iran’s attack as “retaliation,” when, in fact, it was Israel’s response to Zahedi’s actions and a preventive measure to avoid further strikes.
Iran’s attack over the weekend marked a significant escalation, as it was carried out directly by Iran itself, not via proxies, for the first time, launching from Iranian soil towards Israel.
Where did Tehran’s leadership get the audacity to initiate such a volatile move?
It is influenced by the White House and Democratic critics like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who have distanced themselves from Israel in recent months.
President Biden has criticized Israel’s actions against Hamas and has been reluctant to support Israel in targeting Hamas’ forces in Rafah out of concern for civilian casualties.
Iran perceived this distance between the U.S. and Israel and believed it could act with impunity if it attacked Israel.
Iran is aware of the Biden administration’s desire to appease Iran, similar to the Obama administration’s approach, which provided Iran with significant financial resources through a nuclear deal that President Trump later nullified.
President Biden’s attempts to revive the nuclear deal and relax sanctions on Iran have emboldened the country to launch such attacks.
Furthermore, Biden’s lack of meaningful response to attacks by Iran’s proxies has only encouraged further aggression.
Despite warnings against joining such attacks, Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed militias have continued to launch attacks on Israeli and Western targets regularly.
Following reports of a potential Iranian attack, President Biden once again warned against it, but Iran proceeded with launching a significant number of drones, missiles, and rockets targeting Israel from various locations.
Despite the defiance displayed by Iran, the White House urged Israel not to retaliate and instead aims to deescalate the situation, which seems impractical and unrealistic.
President Biden’s policy of restraint and appeasement towards Iran has failed, and he should be unconditionally supporting Israel in responding to Iran’s attacks.
Ignoring such attacks would only encourage further aggression.
Since October 7, President Biden’s primary goal has been to prevent escalation, but recent events indicate that this strategy has failed.
A change in policy towards Iran is necessary to prevent further escalations and conflicts.
Continuing the same approach would only lead to disastrous consequences, and it’s time for a new strategy to be implemented.
