Democrats Cry ‘Racism,’ Yet NYC Minorities Applaud Trump’s ICE Raids
As Democrats express outrage over President Trump’s initiative to deport violent criminal illegal immigrants, minority communities in New York are ecstatic that federal authorities are removing criminals from their neighborhoods.
In The Bronx, Black and Hispanic residents applauded the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids on Tuesday, which targeted “asylum seekers” with outstanding warrants for serious offenses such as murder and kidnapping, including the arrest of a Tren de Aragua ringleader.
“Get them the hell out of the street so people don’t have to walk in fear,” said Evelyn Brown, an 80-year-old resident of The Bronx.
Indeed.
Under the misguided policies of elite leftists, impoverished and minority neighborhoods have borne the brunt of rising crime and illegal immigration.
Consider Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens: The city’s refusal to remove criminals or assist ICE has resulted in a predominantly Hispanic and Asian area that is overrun by prostitution, drugs, and violence, exacerbated by gang members from Tren de Aragua allowed in by the Biden administration.
For four years, Democrats have misled Americans about the damage caused by their policies, claiming that enforcing the law and securing borders amounts to fascism.
Meanwhile, Trump has vowed to restore order by deporting the lawbreakers who threaten communities and drain vital resources.
This is likely why he significantly improved his standing among non-white voters nationwide — from The Bronx, where his support surged by 35% from 2020 to 2024, to predominantly Hispanic counties along the border that are overwhelmed by illegal crossings.
He flipped Starr County, Texas, a region with a 97% Hispanic population that had leaned Democratic for over a century; his approval among Latinos across the country increased by 16 percentage points compared to 2016.
While disconnected progressives advocate for the notion that police are villains and that ICE raids are racist, what the actual sentiments echo from these communities is a desire for safety and reduced crime.
This is precisely why minorities consistently advocate for more police presence in their neighborhoods, not less.
They overwhelmingly wish for dangerous illegal individuals to be removed from their streets.
Progressives claim that Trump’s migration deportation campaign exemplifies white supremacy.
The minority residents of New York, who are reclaiming their communities, beg to differ.
