Democrats demonstrate their animosity towards Israel by boycotting Netanyahu’s address

Once again, Democrats are displaying their disdain for Israel by boycotting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress on Wednesday.

They can be seen as the pro-Hamas party.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who is scheduled to preside over the Senate, claims she has a conflicting schedule and will not be attending.

Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray (D-Wash.), who is next in line to preside, is also opting out.

Expectedly, up to 100 other Democrats are also expected to dismiss the leader of the Jewish state.

They seem to overlook the fact that Israel is a key ally and the only true democracy in the Middle East.

They also ignore the fact that Israel is fighting for its survival against Islamic extremists in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran, and working to rescue eight US hostages, including the bodies of three who died in the hands of terrorists.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes the invitation to Bibi was “wrong.”

She claims to love Israel but insists that Netanyahu is obstructing a “two-state solution,” meaning the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel. Pelosi believes he should do “what is right” for the Jewish state or resign.

This is absurd.

Bibi was elected democratically; Pelosi should not interfere in Israel’s internal politics.

Furthermore, Israel’s Knesset recently voted 68-9 that a Palestinian state would pose an existential danger to Israel.

This reflects public opinion: No Israeli government will consider the “two-state” ideal favored by Western elites.

This is not surprising, considering Gaza essentially functioned as an independent state, run by Hamas, which turned it into a military zone aimed at attacking Israel.

The October 7 massacre was the result of this misguided statehood experiment.

Senator Chuck Schumer is even worse, despite claiming to be Israel’s “guardian” due to the meaning of his name in Hebrew.

He, too, criticized Bibi and demanded that Israel hold elections to replace him.

In general, Democrats have been increasingly hostile towards Israel: The 2012 convention disapproved of recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state.

In 2015, almost 60 Dems boycotted Netanyahu’s last address to Congress.

According to Gallup, only 35% of Democrats today sympathize more with Israel than with Palestinians, compared to 80% of Republicans.

The Squad consistently labels Israel as “genocidal.”

Even if Democrats disagree with Bibi’s policies (most of which have strong support from majorities in Israel), they should be supporting our ally instead of snubbing its leader.

They may claim they are only rejecting Bibi, but in reality, they are rejecting Israel.
