Democrats facing consequences from Trump have no one but themselves to blame
There is a significant uproar among Democrats and media allies regarding Donald Trump’s mention of seeking “retribution” through the legal system.
Ironically, these are the last individuals who should be discussing this topic.
Despite facing a criminal conviction, three indictments, and a substantial civil-fraud judgment all orchestrated by the Biden Justice Department and elected Democrats, Trump has been hinting at retaliatory actions, stating, “I will be your retribution.”
Certain allies of Trump have begun compiling lists of Democrats to potentially prosecute.
Joe Biden’s campaign, lacking self-awareness, has cautioned against a possible scenario where “convicted felon Donald Trump” could pursue his political opponents, portraying him as someone seeking revenge against those who oppose him.
Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe shared concerns from FBI employees who believe they might have to flee the country to avoid prosecution if Trump is re-elected.
In an interview following his conviction, Trump stated to Sean Hannity, “I would have every right to go after them.” However, he also expressed a desire to unify the country.
Trump clarified that he refrained from fulfilling his 2016 promise to “lock her up” referring to Hillary Clinton, to avoid divisive legal actions.
Engaging in vindictive prosecutions under a second Trump administration would be detrimental. It would be even worse to misuse the legal system by bringing forth baseless cases, fabricating evidence, engaging in covert surveillance, distorting the law, and charging opponents for actions overlooked when done by allies.
All of the aforementioned has been done against Trump. If he were to retaliate, Democrats would have only themselves to blame.
If long-standing norms are to be disregarded to indict a former president, there should be substantial evidence demonstrating criminal behavior. The legal system should be applied impartially to both sides without bias in judgment. Unfortunately, Democratic prosecutors have overlooked these principles.
Trump’s conviction in New York for false statements related to financial matters should not have proceeded to trial. There was no victim in this case, just as there was none in Letitia James’s civil-fraud lawsuit that imposed significant fines on Trump.
It is worth noting that the charges against Trump mirrored actions taken by Hillary Clinton’s campaign, yet the outcomes differed significantly in terms of penalties.
The case in Georgia has been indefinitely halted by the appeals court due to its political nature.
Instances of biased investigations, such as the misuse of evidence and surveillance tactics, have been observed against Trump.
Democrats have a history of utilizing the legal system for political vendettas, which could potentially backfire on them.
It remains to be seen if Democrats will face consequences for their actions, but if they do, it will be the result of their own actions.
