Democrats Rally Against DOE Closure: Letters to the Editor

The Topic: Democrats protest against possible cuts to the Department of Education.

It was a disheartening scene outside the Department of Education, where Democratic legislators convened (“Now Trump sics DOGE on the DOE,” Feb. 12).

Having heard about Elon Musk’s DOGE Team being present, they attempted (unsuccessfully) to breach the building and hinder its operations.

The politicians claimed their presence was for the benefit of American schoolchildren. If only that were genuine. Where were they when national test scores were released, showing significant declines in math and reading? Where was their passion at that moment?

It was quite amusing to see House Democrats charging into the Department of Education offices. What were they aiming to achieve?

Their plea for an urgent meeting was turned down; they had no reason to be there.

When Rep. Maxine Waters shouted, “Get out of the way,” and “we pay your job,” it merely highlighted her misplaced indignation. Where was her anger when the recent global literacy report surfaced, ranking the United States low in math and reading skills, despite us spending the highest amount per student?
Maxine, redirect that fury towards benefiting the children in your district.

Recently, Rep. Waters unleashed her typical tirade against a Department of Education security personnel, relentlessly questioning his identity and throwing around other ridiculous accusations.

For those who may have forgotten, following Trump’s initial victory, Waters encouraged fellow Democrats to confront Trump’s Cabinet members when they were seen in public.

Her actions have reignited emotions and stoked animosity — now directed at both Trump and Musk, as well as anyone linked to the DOGE initiative.

The Democrats’ effort to overpower the Department of Education building was a revolting display of duplicity.

The Democrats, along with their allies in the teaching unions, headed by the utterly reprehensible Randi Weingarten, have let the children in our nation down. Despite spending more on education per student than any other nation, we lag behind in academic performance.

Our children are invaluable. It’s time we treat them as such.

The Topic: Federal judges halting several of President Trump’s executive orders.

We need to enact a new law that prevents judges at lower levels, including appellate courts, from obstructing the president and Congress with unreasonable edicts, especially when there is a recurring pattern of such actions (“Judge nixes pause on fed buyouts,” Feb. 13).

Everything Trump, Musk, and other administration members are working on for America is being blocked by these judges. These are activist judges taking instructions from the far-left.

Democrats whine like children over the savings being made, but their anger stems solely from the agencies they value facing budget cuts. We should prioritize the welfare of Americans first.

President Trump ought to sign an executive order that enables the Office of the President to bypass judiciary members obstructing presidential actions.

These judges did not win the election to be the president of the United States — Trump did.
