Dems Took Biden at His Word—Now They’re Left with Embarrassment and a Fractured Party

Democrats.
They believed the president when he described himself as “a Biden,” and now they find themselves embarrassed and facing a party crisis.
Joe Biden’s sweeping, historic 11-year retrospective pardon for his troubled 54-year-old son, Hunter, has only intensified their strife.
Even typically cautious Gavin Newsom feels empowered to publicly criticize Joe Biden for consistently claiming he would never offer his son clemency.
“I took the president at his word,” Newsom stated on Tuesday.
“I’m disappointed and cannot support the decision.”
Disappointment, disillusionment, and despair have become the trio of emotions driving Democrats since their defeat at the hands of Donald Trump.
Viewers of MSNBC are beginning to awaken to the false narratives they were fed by the Democratic Party, as Joe and Mika make their way to Mar-a-Lago to seek forgiveness from the infamous Orange Man.

Donor Discontent
Additionally, donors are voicing their frustrations over feeling cheated, as the Kamala Harris campaign and related Political Action Committees squandered $2.5 billion of their funds to ultimately lose the election.
“Two-and-a-half billion dollars!” lamented Democratic stalwart James Carville on his “Politics War Room” podcast last week.
“Does anyone have a clue where that money went?…”
“The Resistance is going to struggle to raise funds. These fundraisers are burnt out and genuinely angry now.”
“The damage this 2024 campaign and this decade have inflicted on the Democratic brand is almost unimaginable.”
He then bluntly stated what many Democrats whisper among themselves.
“A lot of this can be traced back to one key figure: Joe Biden. I’m sorry. He is at the center of it all.”
Biden’s deluded self-image, dishonesty, and corruption have devastated the nation, and now, as his presidency nears its end, he has also damaged the Democratic Party.
It’s difficult to view his sweeping pardon of his son and the deceptions surrounding it as anything other than an act of self-preservation.
On Tuesday, federal Judge Mark Scarsi, who was scheduled to sentence Hunter over serious felony tax fraud in two weeks, criticized the president’s claim that Hunter had been “selectively and unfairly prosecuted.”
Scarsi remarked: “The Constitution grants the President broad authority for reprieves and pardons, but it does not allow the President to rewrite history.”
The judge pointed out that Hunter’s attorneys had only submitted a link to Biden’s self-serving White House press release instead of “a true and correct copy of the pardon.”
This arrogant error prompted Scarsi to challenge the president’s falsehoods.
Discrepancies with the Record
The president’s statement included “assertions [that] conflict with the case record,” he noted dryly.
“For instance, the President contends that [Hunter] ‘was treated differently’ from others ‘who were late paying their taxes due to serious addictions.’”
However, when Hunter accepted a plea deal, he admitted to tax evasion “well after he had regained his sobriety.”
Scarsi pointed out that “two federal judges explicitly dismissed” Joe’s fanciful assertion that Hunter was “singled out solely because he is my son.”
“And the President’s own Attorney General and Department of Justice officials oversaw the investigation leading to the charges.”
In fact, three appeals court panels rejected Hunter’s claims of “selective and vindictive prosecution.”
As summarized in one prosecution document: “In total, eleven (11) different Article III judges appointed by six (6) different presidents, including his father, evaluated and dismissed the defendant’s claims.”
Joe told one fib too many, and his dishonesty has been recorded in the legal annals for future generations to see.
This will be his legacy, etched in stone.
Honest IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler have also spoken out against the absurdity of Joe’s assertion that his own Justice Department unfairly targeted Hunter.
In truth, the opposite occurred.
The DOJ exerted considerable effort to hinder Shapley and Ziegler’s investigation and to cover up any evidence linking to the Big Guy, Joe Biden, and his complicity in the family’s influence-peddling enterprise.
“We compiled extensive evidence and testified under oath about the methods his Justice Department, including [Special Counsel David] Weiss, employed to protect the Biden family from a thorough investigation regarding alleged corruption in Ukraine, Romania, and China,” they wrote this week.
Deliberate Tax Evasion
Hunter didn’t just submit his tax returns late; he “confessed to willful felony tax evasion… filing false tax returns with the IRS — knowingly and intentionally, while sober.
False deductions… included items such as a sex club membership, luxury vehicle rentals, and housing for his then-girlfriend.
“Ordinary Americans face accountability for that kind of tax fraud, yet Hunter Biden will evade responsibility simply because his father is the president.”
Former aide to Joe Biden, Jeff Connaughton, once expressed shock at discovering that his seemingly amicable boss was a selfish, “egomaniacal autocrat” who led his staff “through fear and whose ambitions were largely self-serving.”
In his 2012 memoir, “Payoff,” Connaughton recounts a conversation with Biden’s long-time chief of staff, Ted Kaufman, who tried to soothe Connaughton following a difficult encounter with Biden.
“Jeff, don’t take this personally,” Kaufman said.
“Biden leads to disappointment for everyone. He’s an equal-opportunity disappointer.”
Kaufman has since denied that conversation, but today, in the quieter post-election reflections that have surfaced, a consistent theme is: Joe let us down.
He was not who he claimed to be.
“A selfish and senile old man,” was the assessment of disillusioned Democratic voter and analyst Nate Silver.
