Disney’s ‘Snow White’ Controversy Highlights a Familiar Truth: Go Woke, Go Broke!
Get woke, go broke — and become a punchline!
This is the takeaway from Disney’s unfortunate efforts to “wokify” the beloved children’s tale “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
After facing substantial backlash for its series of blunders, shifts, and reversals concerning the film, the House of Mouse has now reportedly decided on a quiet, low-key launch for the premiere.
No extravagance, no spectacle, just a simple pre-show gathering and a red carpet featuring stars Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, with the usual swarm of journalists notably absent.

Why is this happening?
Because the film has become a punchline ever since it was revealed that Disney planned to eliminate the dwarves to appease irate progressives, including the vocal millionaire “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage, who has dwarfism.
Zegler has embraced the woke narrative, stating, “People are joking that ours is the PC Snow White, which, yes, it is, because it needed that.”
Now, it seems Disney has opted to replace the live-action non-dwarfs with CGI dwarfs in a fraught effort to navigate this precarious situation.
But Zegler wasn’t done yet.
After Donald Trump’s surprising resurgence in 2024, she posted on Instagram, wishing “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.”
However, like many in the woke crowd, she quickly backtracked and issued a regretful apology.
And let’s not forget the context of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Zegler seems to lean toward pro-Hamas sentiments, much like some actors today, while Gadot, in contrast, is a well-known advocate for Israel.
Now, this bizarre and convoluted saga wraps up — not with a bang, but with a whimper.
Imagine if Disney had just let the entire situation be.
Or if the company had come up with a genuine new idea, rather than yet another remake, and then stifled it with the constraints of contemporary left-wing politics.
Remember, the original “Snow White” was a pioneering achievement, the first full-length animated feature from a Hollywood studio.
It set the groundwork for everything that came after, from “Bambi” to “The Iron Giant” to “Toy Story.”
Disney should focus on creating, not on pushing propaganda.
Do that, and families will come flocking.
