Donald Trump and Kamala Harris Exchange Letters During Debate
The Issue: The presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump on ABC.
The debate was clearly a one-sided affair, as The Post accurately labeled it on the front page (Sept. 11).
No need to dwell on the rehearsed talking points and biased questions from the moderators during the debate.
Let’s instead compare the actual achievements: Former President Donald Trump’s four years in office versus the Biden-Harris administration.
Trump emerges as the winner on the economy, national security, immigration, and international policy.

The moderators at ABC displayed clear bias in their handling of the debate.
It’s evident that Trump is not getting a fair chance.
What unfolded was a personal attack on Trump’s character.
Vice President Kamala Harris seemed to be instructed to avoid answering questions and focus solely on attacking Trump, showing a disregard for the interests of voters.
If Harris seeks another debate, it should be on Fox News with conservative moderators.

While I believe Kamala Harris won the debate on Tuesday night, I would say Trump did more to lose it than she did to win it.
Trump lacks understanding of tariffs and their impact on the economy, believing toughness will prevail.
Economists from Goldman Sachs and the Wharton School have highlighted the superiority of Harris’ economic plan over Trump’s.
By praising leaders like Hungary’s Victor Orban, Trump seeks to showcase his international esteem, but most voters are unfamiliar with Orban.
Trump’s immigration arguments rely on baseless claims about immigrants eating pets.
Though I am not a Trump supporter, I advise him to be prepared for future debates if he chooses to engage again.
He had ample opportunities to turn it into a genuine debate rather than a Harris-centric forum.

My observation of the debate was that David Muir seemed to be more focused on correcting Trump than Harris.
It felt like a coordinated effort with the ABC moderators and Harris teaming up against Trump.

The Tuesday night debate between Harris and Trump was a battle of good versus evil, with the victory clearly going to Harris.
Harris delivered a strong performance, emphasizing her commitment to serving the American people.
On the contrary, Trump appeared flustered, spouting lies and incoherent statements.
He seemed agitated and defensive, unable to deny past remarks hinting at dictatorial tendencies.
Contrasted with the admirable qualities of a potential leader like Harris, Trump’s behavior appeared erratic and unsettling.

The Trump-Harris debate on ABC seemed like a well-orchestrated setup.
Harris evaded direct questions on the economy and immigration, choosing instead to deflect blame onto Trump for past actions.
In contrast, Trump was held accountable for his responses and fact-checked, while Harris’s inaccuracies went unchecked.
The bias was so evident that ABC almost portrayed Trump as the incumbent, a disappointing turn of events.

The Post should aim for greater objectivity in its political reporting.
The debate was not a “Kambush.”
Kamala Harris outperformed Trump, who struggled to provide coherent answers.
His conduct was shameful and unbecoming of a national leader.
