Donald Trump Educates Kaitlan Collins on Media Distrust and Its Impact on Americans
Left-leaning journalists continue to take aim at President Trump, demonstrating why they have lost credibility with the public.
Consider CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
A long-time member of the Resistance, she remained true to her form when she shouted, “Do you trust President Putin?” while Trump discussed peace prospects in Ukraine.
There was no substance in her question, and it did nothing to advance the dialogue surrounding a significant global issue, like the potential end of Putin’s aggression.
It felt more like a cheap ploy for applause and social media attention.
Collins seems stuck in January 2017, a time when anti-Trump rhetoric dominated the media landscape.
Yet, Trump responded with a reality check.
Trump countered that former President Joe Biden is “a friend of CNN. That’s why nobody watches CNN anymore. Because they have no credibility.”
Regardless of personal opinions about Trump, a rational observer must acknowledge the truth in his statement.
CNN and other media outlets that have embraced exaggerated progressive rhetoric for years have lost all trustworthiness.
It’s important to note that Collins used the Ukraine war—a tragic conflict largely fueled by her ally Biden, which has already taken countless lives and devastated cities—as fodder for her personal brand.
Trump’s dismissal of Collins’ attempts was the correct approach to this partisan theatrics: Don’t engage meaningfully, brush it off, and move on.
This mindset is increasingly being adopted by Americans when dealing with the media. Trust in journalism has plummeted to unprecedented lows since 2020, showing no signs of recovery.
When viewers tune in to watch reporters interrogate politicians, they expect real questions.
What they don’t want is condescension, exaggerated self-righteousness, or propaganda.
Collins and her colleagues are doing a significant disservice to both their profession and their country by perpetuating this outdated approach.
