Drones in New Jersey: Correspondence
The Concern: The Pentagon’s reaction to the numerous unidentified drones reported over New Jersey.
A spokesperson from the Pentagon stated that the many drones spotted over New Jersey are not operated by the US military (“Close Encounters of the Turnpike,” Dec. 12).
While that might be accurate, it may not tell the entire story.
Reporters should have followed up with more questions. They ought to have inquired whether these drones are controlled by other divisions of the US government, including but not limited to Homeland Security, the FBI, NSA, CIA, DIA, Secret Service, etc. They should also consider the possibility that a contractor hired by a government agency is operating them.
The bottom line: If the government truly has no knowledge of the situation, it’s time to deploy a few Army Apache AH-64 helicopters to take down the drones for a proper risk assessment.

The unidentified drones flying over New Jersey seem to be conducting reconnaissance — and our government claims to have no insight?
Is the administration waiting for these drones to crash into buildings? Why are they still operational? Has anyone updated President Biden — or is he solely focused on signing pardons these days?
The answers to these questions are as important to me as they are to many Americans.

The buzz in New Jersey is all about drones, yet there are curiously no clear answers.
When the news about the Chinese balloons broke, the government finally took notice — but only after they had already infiltrated our airspace for quite some time.
My prediction: Those behind the drones pose no threat. If they truly did, Trump would be tweeting non-stop, especially when the drones appear near his residence in Bedminster.

These drones might be involved in surveillance or potentially something more malicious. They could threaten our security, yet the government seems ill-equipped to handle the situation. It’s alarming.

The Concern: FBI Director Christopher Wray’s announcement to resign at the conclusion of Biden’s term.
The impending resignation of FBI Director Christopher Wray is seen as a “ray” of hope in the wake of Donald Trump’s sweeping victory (“Wray Bows to Reality,” Editorial, Dec. 12).
The so-called “deplorables” in America will no longer be subject to surprise raids at dawn or surveillance in public meetings and places of worship, nor endure the invasion of their privacy. Goodbye, Chris. Don’t forget to take Attorney General Merrick Garland with you.

This past Wednesday, Christopher Wray announced his resignation as FBI Director. Appointed seven years ago by Donald Trump, Wray embodies the “deep state” bureaucracy.
He exhibits arrogance, self-interest, aggression, and irritability when faced with challenges. He always believes he is “right.”
Despite being a Republican, Wray has operated under the Biden administration with a noticeable bias, particularly in matters related to border security.
Wray dismissed Congress’s concerns regarding his effectiveness in identifying and apprehending migrants with criminal records or those involved in drug trafficking.
According to Wray, allegations of FBI negligence and carelessness are unfounded, weaknesses that Kash Patel, Trump’s nominee for the FBI, is unlikely to tolerate. Only time will tell.
