Elon Musk Derangement Syndrome: Democrats Abandon Principles in Rejection of Everything Musk Related
In our current environment of outrage, it is not uncommon for individuals to transform into that which they loathe in others, discarding their most valued principles in order to lash out at those they detest.
Since the election, Democrats have exhibited this self-destructive tendency of fury by adopting anti-immigrant, anti-free speech, anti-labor, and even anti-environmental stances to target Donald Trump and his base.
Rage can envelop every aspect of a person’s being. It is both addictive and contagious. However, what these individuals in a rage-fueled frenzy refuse to acknowledge is their own enjoyment of it; they crave it.
This week in New York illustrated this very point, as Democratic legislators are once again striving to misuse state laws for political gain—much like they did with Trump.
This time, they have set their sights on Elon Musk, whose dealerships, charging stations, and clientele have faced political violence from the left.
State Senator Pat Fahy, a Democrat from Albany, is committed to prohibiting Elon Musk from making direct sales within the state.
Interestingly, Fahy has been a long-term proponent of electric vehicles. This move will pose challenges not only for Musk but also for other EV vendors, disregarding the climate change agenda. Fahy and her peers are determined to target Musk by any means necessary.
Fahy stated, “No matter what we do, we’ve got to take this from Elon Musk. He’s part of an effort to go backwards.”
This isn’t the only instance where Democrats are sacrificing their stated values to attack Musk:
* The left condemns political violence like that seen on January 6th, yet chooses silence while Teslas are set ablaze and Cybertrucks are vandalized. They support boycotts and rallies while implicitly encouraging the perpetrators. Amid rising violence across the nation, leftist protests have included slogans like “Burn a Tesla, Save Democracy.”
* While other billionaires, from George Soros to Mark Zuckerberg, have invested heavily in left-leaning elections, Musk is uniquely vilified for his contributions to Republicans. Democrats champion every illegal immigrant but then mockingly refer to Musk, a naturalized American, as a “foreigner” “meddling” in our government affairs.
* Those who profess to advocate for free speech are backing censorship and criticizing Musk for bolstering free speech protections on X.
* In California, labor advocates are opposing SpaceX’s expansion that would benefit local workers. California Coastal Commissioner Gretchen Newsom tried to halt increased SpaceX launches, despite their advantages for both the state’s economy and national security. Retaliation for Musk’s “hopping about the country, spewing and tweeting political falsehoods” took precedence.
Ultimately, the most glaring hypocrisy may lie in the Democrats’ willingness to forsake environmental priorities for the sake of political revenge. It seems to be a contest of virtue-signaling. Advocating for Mother Earth is acceptable on most occasions, yet nothing compares to the need to undermine Elon Musk.
Legislators and advocates are also pushing pension funds to divest from Tesla while attempting to force Tesla showrooms to close, jeopardizing jobs in New York.
Tesla is an American company making and selling cars in this country. It leads the U.S. and New York markets for electric vehicle sales, yet it now faces destruction because Musk’s political beliefs do not align with those of the left, unlike Soros or Zuckerberg.
In 2014, Tesla was allowed to operate five locations to sell directly to consumers, considered beneficial for New York jobs, the economy, and especially the environment.
Now, none of that holds any weight.
Fahy concluded, “The bottom line is, Tesla has lost their right to promote these when they’re part of an administration that wants to go backwards. Elon Musk was handed a privilege here.”
It’s equally irrelevant that companies like Rivian and Lucid (along with their workforce) will be caught in the crossfire. Nothing matters besides retribution.
Democrats have seemingly abandoned any sense of shame. Their disgust is directed only at those who refuse to comply with their demands, rather than any means utilized to realize political objectives. The pressing question remains: what ideals do Democrats like Fahy genuinely stand for when their identities are solely defined by those they oppose?
