Eric Adams Takes Action Against Criminal Migrants: Letters

The Issue: Mayor Adams expressing his intent to deport illegal immigrants accused of crimes.

It’s somewhat reassuring to hear that Mayor Adams is aligning with President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan (“ ‘Cancel Me, I Don’t Care,’ ” Dec. 4).

The Post highlights the difficulties the mayor has faced in navigating the migrant crisis.

However, I can’t help but recall that President Biden did not meet with Adams during his visit to Washington to request assistance.

Despite being overlooked, Adams went ahead and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

That was purely political maneuvering and rather disappointing.

It seems Adams has finally recognized the situation and is ready to facilitate the removal of illegal immigrants.

It’s unfortunate he didn’t confront Washington officials sooner.

Once again, Eric Adams is making grand statements, as he tends to do when faced with challenges.

New Yorkers should listen, but maintain skepticism until his words translate into tangible outcomes.

His actual achievements often fall short of his verbal commitments.

Let’s hope I’m mistaken this time, for New York’s sake.

It sounds like Eric Adams is changing his tune, possibly seeking a pardon from Trump in the future.

New York is in chaos because Adams failed to curb the influx of illegal immigrants and then chose to house many of them in upscale hotels.

This crisis has strained our healthcare system and public schools.

The city is now supporting tens of thousands of migrants, many of whom are unvetted.

Adams must promptly revoke NYC’s sanctuary city status.

This is a classic illustration of acting too late.

Adams initially welcomed migrants with enthusiasm, perhaps under the assumption that someone else would cover the costs.

His virtue-signaling blinded him to the mess he was forging.

The outcome?

Increased crime, unprecedented costs, and greater division.

Now Adams is calling for deportations, typically shifting his position when he thinks it will improve his image.

The mayor ought to feel ashamed for the harm he has caused.

President Dwight Eisenhower deported illegal immigrants by transporting them to the heart of Mexico, not just to the border.

We should make it difficult and costly for them to return.

Two years ago, Adams welcomed busloads of migrants with open arms.

Now, he claims he wants to collaborate with Tom Homan, who is set to become Trump’s border czar, to deport illegal immigrant criminals.

If that’s the case, then he must act quickly.

Talk is inexpensive, and actions speak louder than words.

I want to express my gratitude to Mayor Adams for stating he will work with Trump to deport migrant criminals.
Adams has the courage to take the right stance and ensure our safety, unlike many other politicians.

I will always support him.

Mayor Adams deceives no one. He permitted this city to become inundated with illegal immigrants, utilizing taxpayer funds in the process.

Both businesses and residents are fleeing the city like never before.

Where has the mayor been for almost three years through all this?

Primarily against deportation while declaring NYC a sanctuary city.

Now, for political gain, he claims he’ll collaborate with Trump on deportations.

Good luck with that, Adams, because your political career is over.

If it weren’t for Trump’s victory, Mayor Adams wouldn’t be advocating strongly for the deportation of criminal migrants.

This election has been a blessing for New York City Democrats.

I wonder if they will come to that realization.
