Following the Lateef Green Subway Attack: What Other Crimes Will the NYC Left Be Complicit In?

How many more assaults, robberies, rapes, and murders will the progressives in New York tolerate from dangerous street criminals and the mentally ill?

On Friday, a homeless parolee with over a dozen previous arrests, Lateef Green, attacked an innocent subway rider with a knuckle knife and stabbed him multiple times, according to police reports.

What allowed this individual to roam free in search of his next victim?

It’s evident that New York’s elected officials prioritize criminals over the safety of law-abiding citizens.

Green had been sentenced to Mid-State Correctional Facility in 2017 for a 2016 hate crime, where he brutally assaulted a man in Harlem while yelling, “There are too many f—ts in this town.”

He received a lenient sentence: just three to six years.

He served under four years and was paroled in 2021, long before he had adequately paid for his heinous crime.

In February, he was arrested for jumping a turnstile.

This incident demonstrates once again that “minor” offenses often lead to major ones.

Acting against minor crimes can help prevent more severe offenses.

Yet, he remained on the streets, free to perpetrate more crimes.

The notion that someone on parole for a violent crime—especially with multiple arrests on their record—should be given a pass for any offense is utterly ludicrous: In a society that works, he would have been sent back to prison immediately after jumping that turnstile.

Now, after the fact, law enforcement has finally taken action—charging Green with attempted murder and setting a high bail.

It’s purely by luck that he didn’t end up killing anyone.

Furthermore, Gov. Kathy Hochul is now pushing to release even more violent offenders early, doing so after dismissing 2,000 correctional officers for illegal strikes, which created a staffing crisis.

This begs the question: Do Hochul and other left-leaning politicians care so little about crime victims?

Or do they genuinely want individuals like Green to be on the streets, instilling fear in New Yorkers?
