George Clooney finally comes clean about his thoughts on Biden
Now you tell us, George.
After fronting a splashy fundraiser with Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand and Jimmy Kimmel in LA LA Land three weeks ago, George Clooney penned a bombshell column for the New York Times this morning urging Biden to drop out of the race.
He’s simply lost too many steps, said Clooney.
“It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe ‘big F—ing deal’ Biden of 2010,” wrote Clooney. “He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”
He saw that Biden was a shell of his former self, and yet still helped to raise $30 million for a political lemon. Hey, the show must go on.
What took Clooney so long?
After all, this was not a rare case of rapid onset aging.
He and our Tinseltown betters told us this octogenarian career pol was the only guy for the job, spry at 81 and in fighting shape to slay the MAGA boogyman.
That is, until the debate — when the showbiz myth of Biden collided with reality. There, Biden was free from teleprompters, protective handlers and press reps who vet every question.
He was undeniably in a cognitive free fall.
Only now, Clooney admits that what we saw on TV, he saw in private. Everybody knows it. The jig is finally up.
Sadly, that’s what this Biden candidacy has been all along: smoke and mirrors, which happens to be the specialty of Hollywood. Clooney is one of the few industry A-listers left. He oozes sex appeal, glamour and a cheekiness that makes him sparkle on the big screen.
He also oozes elitist bull—t.
Clooney and his celebrity pals — led by movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, who has been the executive producer of this Biden fantasy — and accused by angry donors of “agewashing” Biden, put on a star studded night despite their weak, confused looking candidate.
But it was a summer blockbuster doomed to flop because the script was crap and none of the players believed in the project. They were just hoping hype would mask its obvious faults and it would deliver at the box office. Or in this case, at the ballot box.
How cynical and arrogant. We all saw Biden freeze up on stage. We saw him being gingerly led off by President Obama at the fundraiser (Where’s that guy btw?).
And The Post, in reporting on his obvious physical shortcomings there and at the G7 summit in Europe, were dismissed by the White House. Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre called the sad videos of Biden, “cheap fakes” and accused us of spreading “misinformation.”
A familiar refrain dating back to Hunter Biden’s lap top.
Clooney got the kill sign from the party base who want Biden put out to pasture because they know he can’t win. The time arrived for a public and coordinated mass knifing in ol’ Joe’s back, so the actor obliged.
It’s craven.
“Joe Biden is a hero; he saved democracy in 2020. We need him to do it again in 2024,” Clooney wrote.
The left is simply blinded by their hatred of Donald Trump, whom they’ve promised would end democracy back in 2016 and 2020. In true Hollywood form, they are trotting out another bad dystopian sequel, with the same old script and a new villain: the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025.
Like most Americans, I was and still am clamoring for youth and new ideas for this 2024 election. But this shameful unraveling only emboldens Trump’s insistence that we need to look for leadership outside of the establishment. Someone like him.
As Clooney said in his murderous Times piece, “democracy is messy.”
So is the truth. And the truth is, Hollywood is full of hypocritical, out of touch blowhards, who think so little of the American public.
And in concert with the Biden White House, democrat donors, politicians and a conveniently incurious press, they tried to sell us an elaborate Biden lie.
An Oscar winning effort for all involved.
And an obvious farce for the world to see.
