Gov. Phil Murphy’s Claim About Illegal Immigrants: A Prime Example of Absurd Virtue-Signaling

Welcome to Phil Murphy’s Virtue-Signaling Story Hour.

During a recent interview with the liberal group “Blue Wave New Jersey,” New Jersey’s Democratic governor bragged: “I don’t want to go into too much detail, but there’s someone in our broader universe whose immigration status isn’t quite settled, so we thought, ‘Let’s have her stay at our house above the garage.’”

This was a brazen move to enhance his progressive image with his audience, and he further declared: “And good luck to the feds if they try to come after her.”

Daring federal agents to invade your home? Not very wise when their new motto is “FAFO.”

Indeed, border czar Tom Homan stated he would follow up on his claim.

This led Murphy’s team to do damage control (once again) by sending out a spokesperson on Monday to clarify that the governor had fabricated the entire story, “explaining” that Phil was actually referring to a legal immigrant friend . . . who has never resided in his home.

So… he lied, unprovoked, to project the image of a progressive tough guy.

Did he think people in America were already missing Joe Biden?

Regardless, his feeble deceit has not only disrespected the citizens of New Jersey but has also insulted the very leftists he was attempting to impress.

Call Phil Murphy an idiot, a fraud, a self-serving politician: at least he’ll be leaving office after this year.

The absurd part is that his party recently tried to win an election by claiming the opposition is peculiar.
