Hamas’ objectives: Enriching its leaders or fighting for a cause?

Terror masters Ismail Haniyeh, Moussa Abu Marzuk and Khaled Meshal live lives of luxury in Doha, Qatar, with an estimated combined net worth of some $11 billion.

Call it “Lifestyles of the Rich and Hamas” — and proof positive that the whole “oppressed” and “exploited” thing isn’t exactly what the “Free Palestine” ralliers think it is.

Indeed, Hamas’ bigshots plainly have much in common with most other major Arab leaders, from Jordan’s King Abdullah II to Egypt’s Abdel Fattah al-Sisi: an utter indifference to the plight of actual Palestinians.

Haniyeh, Marzouk & Meshal plainly “earned” their billions courtesy of the huge torrents of aid the world has showered on Palestinians.

These pampered war criminals spend their time flitting from luxe hotel rooms to plush villas and jaunting on private jets as they propagandize against Israel and Jews and work to advance Iran’s imperialist ambitions.

All while Gaza suffers unending economic misery.

More than 80% of the Strip’s 2.1 million people live in poverty; Hamas diverts funds meant for the public into its own coffers (as well as exploits like digging up water pipes to use as rockets).

The fact that these three (and their hangers-on!) live in such unthinkable opulence and safety adds a ghoulish dimension to Hamas’ calls for Palestinians to remain in place during Israel’s counterattack after the group’s Oct. 7th atrocities.

You peons must stay where you are to maximize civilian casualties; we’ll continue living like kings far from the battle.

Worse, these fanatical Fauntleroys are sheltered by Qatar, a (very) nominal US ally.

That this was set up in the first place was a dramatic miscalculation; that it’s still tolerated now, after Iran has bloodily reaffirmed its quest for local hegemony, is insane.

So kudos are due to Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) for sponsoring a bill to strip Qatar of its ally status unless it gives Haniyeh & Co. the boot.

This needed to get done yesterday; look for the pro-terror wing of the Congress (AOC, the just-censured Rashida Tlaib and others) as no votes.

And remember: Whenever the self-anointed tribunes of the Palestinian people crow about “resistance,” they’re ringing the cash register with every needless death, Israeli or Palestinian.
