Hamas’ Ruthless Reprisals Against the Bibas Family: Correspondence

The Situation: The tragic return of Kfir and Ariel Bibas, along with their mother, Shiri, after the heinous acts committed by Hamas.

The brutality inflicted by Hamas upon an innocent mother and her two children, including an infant, is beyond words (“Monsters,” Feb. 22).

In spite of this atrocious act against these innocent lives, global support for this group of barbarians remains, as the victims were Jews. The world will soon overlook this tragedy once again.

Students, educators, and administrators should take note: supporting Hamas is not a trend or a stance for free speech.

No one holds the right to take another’s life. This act is a clear demonstration of extreme brutality and hatred, entirely devoid of compassion.

This serves as a stark reminder of the perspectives held by terrorist factions and their leaders. It is appalling to see them display the bodies of victims in public.

We must educate our youth to resist being misled by religious extremists who romanticize their agendas under the guise of moral justification.

Israeli leaders have condemned the “barbarous cruelty” of Hamas after the murder of the Bibas children.

Yet, neither the far-right Israeli government nor the so-called “independent” media discuss the thousands of Palestinian children who have died among the ruins of Gaza.

This political narrative encourages the public to grieve for Israeli children while ignoring the suffering of Palestinian children.

As hostages and Israeli remains languish in the hands of terrorists, we are harshly reminded of the brutality witnessed on October 7 with the murder of the Bibas children.

These innocent children were not IDF soldiers; they were killed by savages backed by Iran, and supported by various anti-Semites across the globe, simply because they were Jewish.

Regrettably, although weakened, Hamas continues to endure, along with its sponsors. With President Trump’s backing, we hope for a definitive resolution.

The Topic: Gov. Hochul’s discussion with Rev. Al Sharpton regarding Mayor Adams’ position.

It’s perplexing that Gov. Hochul sought counsel from Rev. Al Sharpton about the escalating political situation with Mayor Adams (“Kat’s Questionable Consigliere,” Editorial, Feb. 20).

Sharpton lacks political credentials and should not influence this matter at all.

Since his controversial involvement in the Tawana Brawley case back in 1987, he has been outspoken on numerous issues, but his words often lack substance.

He’s certainly not the individual from whom the governor should be seeking advice on any political matters. He should remain out of our city’s politics.

Hochul should focus on engaging with City Council members about the concerns related to Mayor Adams, not consulting Al Sharpton, who is known for his irrelevant rhetoric.

Hochul, possibly the most ineffective governor New York has ever seen, consults those she believes are leaders to consider the removal of the mayor. Who do they think they are?

I can’t accept these individuals as true leaders. Their authority has clearly gone to their heads. Since when did Al Sharpton become recognized as a leader in this city? Unbelievable.
