Hamas Threatens to Execute Hostages, as Biden Intensifies Pressure on Israel

Hamas has now essentially confessed to killing those six hostages rather than risking their release — in fact, they almost celebrated it.

On the other hand, the Harris-Biden administration appears to be using the tragedy as an excuse to pressure Israel into a cease-fire agreement that could enable the terrorists to resupply.

When asked by a reporter on Monday if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had done enough to secure a hostage deal, Biden simply said “No” while stating that “we are very close” to proposing another hostage deal this week and expressed that “Hope springs eternal.”

Hamas rejected the last cease-fire offer, even as Netanyahu was showing some willingness to compromise on the important issue of the Philadephi corridor: Who should control the Gaza-Egyptian border during any ceasefire?

It turns out Cairo allowed the area to be filled with smuggling tunnels under its supervision, which is why Bibi is hesitating to let the IDF relinquish control even temporarily now — fearing that Hamas might take advantage to rearm and/or help their top leaders escape.

We doubt Biden or Kamala Harris is willing to send US forces to take on this task, so criticizing Bibi as the president did essentially means that Israel must give Hamas an opportunity to free the remaining hostages.

Perhaps that is what Israel ought to do, but it’s quite unfair for Washington to pressure Jerusalem to yield, especially when Biden’s motive is primarily self-serving: He wants a ceasefire to solidify his own legacy and enhance Harris’ chances in the upcoming elections.

And all this comes after Harris-Biden urged Israel to delay operations that could have freed the hostages weeks or months earlier.

Especially when Hamas is now openly threatening to kill hostages instead of allowing them to be rescued.

Israel is facing internal divisions on these matters; a genuine ally wouldn’t be stirring the pot solely for his own political gain.

Unfortunately, that’s not how Biden or Harris operates.
