Harvard can target Jews, but it shouldn’t do so with taxpayer money.

Harvard University is dismissing Team Trump and declining to take action to eliminate antisemitism and discrimination on its campus.

Fine. Then it should prepare to lose federal funding — potentially up to $9 billion annually — and start using its own funds instead.

The institution, which in 2023 faced a Supreme Court rebuke for its biased admissions practices, claims it will not allow the government to “dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

In reality, the Trump administration simply wants Harvard to adhere to civil rights laws and the Supreme Court’s 2023 decision.

However, if the antisemitic and racist influences that pervade this Ivy League institution refuse to change, taxpayers are under no obligation to continue providing support.

Indeed, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act effectively bans federal funding for institutions that discriminate.

In fact, Harvard is a hub of leftist ideology, boasting a predominantly left-leaning faculty and staff and a DEI culture that views Jews, Israel, America, and Western civilization as oppressors.

This environment is detrimental to both students and the broader society.

Even more troubling, the school exhibits glaring double standards: It would never accept the kind of hostility directed at Jews following October 7 if it were aimed at, say, Black individuals instead.

Harvard may have the legal right to function as a leftist enclave that is unfriendly to Jews, America, and the West.

But that does not mean US taxpayers should be responsible for financing it.

The Trump administration should cut off Harvard’s federal funding immediately.

Let the university draw from its $50 billion endowment — and witness its reserves dwindle, along with contributions from alumni who are becoming increasingly aware of what their donations support.

The sooner these bigots exhaust their financial resources, the better it will be for everyone else.
