Hunter Biden accused of corruption as MSNBC writer attacks GOP on voting rights and other issues
Journal of troubling misinformation and risky illusions
This statement:
“I did not involve my father in my business.”
— Hunter Biden, Wednesday
We believe: President Biden’s son, who is known for drug abuse and influence peddling, attempted to deceive lawmakers and the public by denying evidence such as emails, testimonies, and photos showing his father meeting with his business associates.
Perhaps Hunter Biden thinks lying under oath isn’t a big deal, given his history of firearms, tax evasion, drug abuse, prostitution, foreign lobbying, and contempt of Congress . . .
This definition:
“The literal meaning of Jihad is ‘struggle.’”
— NYC-run anti-bias webinar for teachers, Feb. 20
We say: This so-called “anti-bias” training is actually a form of propaganda designed to whitewash Islamic extremism.
While technically “jihad” translates to “struggle,” the webinar failed to acknowledge that the more common definition is “holy war” and not just a personal struggle, as the session suggested.
It’s important to consider: Are Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists striving to lose weight or to eliminate their enemies?
This claim:
“Under the Biden-Harris Administration, there has been a significant decrease in crime — including one of the largest yearly declines in homicides ever.”
— White House fact sheet, Thursday
We say: The audacity! Democrats, including Biden, supported defunding the police, excused violence during protests, appointed lenient “prosecutors,” and advocated for keeping criminals out of jail.
VP Kamala Harris even promoted a fund for rioters. Predictably, violent crime increased. It was only after public pressure that some cities took action to reduce crime, leading to a decrease in homicides.
However, it was figures like Biden and Harris who initially fuelled the rise in crime and had no part in any subsequent “decline.”
This accusation:
“[After 2020], Republicans . . . started rolling back voting rights and waging legal fights to restrict voter access.”
— MSNBC’s Ja’han Jones, Thursday
We say: Republicans never aimed to suppress any legitimate votes (or remove candidates from ballots, as Democrats have done).
While some states sought to prevent voter fraud, which undermines legitimate votes and democracy, voters did not face any issues with these measures. For example, following reforms in Georgia (which Biden referred to as “Jim Crow 2.0”), voter turnout reached record levels and received minimal complaints.
