Hurricane Milton Unveiled as Kamala Harris’ October Shock: Correspondence
The Concern: Severe damage caused by consecutive hurricanes in the Southeastern United States.
With Hurricane Milton approaching Florida, thoughts arose about how an evacuation would unfold if everyone was driving electric cars (“Kamala’s Hurricane-Week Disasters,” Editorial, Oct. 11).
The current grid wouldn’t be able to handle charging them all simultaneously, resulting in a slow-moving gridlock leading to drained batteries and stranded individuals.
Is this the future Vice President Kamala Harris envisions for us?

I am deeply saddened by the immense losses caused by major storms this year and offer my prayers for the wellbeing of those affected.
Florida is experiencing significant weather changes that intensify the impact of hurricanes, prompting me to question if voters in this red state find it wise to support a presidential candidate who denies climate change and plans to reverse measures taken by President Biden to address the issue.

The devastating impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton may become the “October Surprise” that influences the upcoming presidential election.

Gov. Ron DeSantis deserves commendation for his outstanding leadership during this crisis.
His proactive approach and planning have been exemplary in managing the impact and aftermath of the hurricanes.
His decision to dismiss a superficial political call from Harris, attempting to involve herself for publicity, was justified. This was a time that required experienced leadership.

The Concern: Criticism of CBS following instances of alleged anti-Israel bias.
Amid reports that CBS does not acknowledge Jerusalem as part of Israel, it adds to the anti-Israel sentiment prevailing at the network (“Tiffany Jerusalem memo,” Oct. 11).
Combined with the reprimand of CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil for questioning Israel-critic Ta-Nehisi Coates, it’s evident where the bias against Israel originates.

The Post’s critique of CBS for the alleged backlash against Tony Dekoupil’s inquiry into Ta-Nehisi Coates is another attack on the left (“The Shame of CBS,” Editorial, Oct. 10).
It’s widely known that Israel faces threats from neighboring countries seeking its elimination.
However, did Dekoupil consider asking Coates about the 800,000 displaced Palestinians during the creation of Israel?
Peace in Israel hinges on a two-state solution and the removal of Benjamin Netanyahu from office, who is prolonging his tenure to evade jail time through war.
Until then, there will continue to be bloodshed and loss of innocent lives.
