I observed Israel embracing life in its battle against a ‘death cult’

Within the past six months, I have witnessed the extremes of humanity in Israel and Gaza.

During my time in New York in October, I was appalled to see individuals in Times Square celebrating a massacre.

They held signs advocating violence “by any means necessary,” at a time when such actions were already prevalent.

Feeling the urgency to bear witness to the unfolding events, I traveled to Israel to experience firsthand the aftermath of the conflict.

In Tel Aviv, I observed pathologists delicately identifying the deceased, showcasing remarkable sensitivity and reverence.

I had the privilege of seeing how Israel responds to aggression – with action and determination, rather than passivity.

Through personal encounters with individuals, I gained a deep appreciation for the heroic spirit that emerged amidst the chaos and violence.

These acts of bravery and sacrifice are a testament to the resilience and courage of the Israeli people.

Despite facing a grave threat, the people of Israel continue to choose life and resist the forces that seek to destroy them.

This award is dedicated to the people of Israel who, in the face of death, embody the spirit of life.
