Iran’s push to defeat Trump stems from fear of his retaliation
President Biden once again criticized Israel for eliminating Hamas’ leader, Ismail Haniyeh.
When asked if Haniyeh’s assassination would hinder efforts for a cease-fire agreement in Gaza, the president responded, “It doesn’t help.”
Is his stance realistic?
Would any ordinary American have considered taking out Osama bin Laden post 9/11 as provocative and endangering peace with al Qaeda?
(However, Biden did oppose the US military mission to eliminate the 9/11 terror leader. Shameful.)
The truth is, if Israel had the opportunity to remove the leader of the terror organization responsible for the October 7 atrocities, Ismail Haniyeh, it would have been foolish to pass up on it.
That is precisely how you deal with violent terrorists like Haniyeh.
And that is the response Biden should have provided.
Moreover, eliminating Hamas’ leader should only increase the group’s willingness for a cease-fire.
Remember, Haniyeh’s demise came as Israel confirmed the elimination of the group’s military leader in Gaza, Mohammed Deif. Israel is dismantling Hamas, step by step.
Naturally, the group would be more inclined to agree to a truce, if only to delay before all its members are eradicated or compelled to surrender.
However, for political motives or a cowardly avoidance of escalation, Biden has not stood firmly in support of Israel and has instead sought to satisfy Hamas.
He has also appeased its main sponsor, Iran, by easing off on sanctions enforcement and approving funding for it.
When Iran launched over 300 rockets, missiles, and attack drones at Israel, the Biden-Harris team cautioned Jerusalem not to retaliate.
He allows Iran to fund anti-Israel protests that cause chaos in America.
He even permitted its proxies to attack US bases in the Middle East, resulting in the deaths of three US soldiers, with almost no consequences.
And make no mistake: Vice President Kamala Harris fully supports this approach.
It is no wonder Iran appears to be working to prevent Donald Trump from winning in November. It fears him more than Harris.
Recent US intelligence indicates that Iran is actively engaged in covert online influence operations to undermine Trump’s candidacy.
US intelligence agencies have observed that Tehran is attempting to sway the presidential election, most likely because Iranian leaders wish to avoid an outcome that would escalate tensions with the United States,” a source from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence stated.
Tehran is correct in its perception: Trump would undoubtedly take a tough stance against it. As president, he adopted a firm stance against Iran, exiting the disastrous 2015 nuclear deal and reimposing sanctions that crippled the Iranian economy.
He also ordered the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, the leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, one of the most influential figures in the regime.
Iran’s leaders dread having him back in the White House, much like people anticipate root canals.
All these reasons explain why Iranian agents are conducting covert online influence operations to harm Trump, just as they did in 2020.
This also clarifies the recent Iranian scheme to assassinate the former president.
Given all the tragedies caused by Iran, voters should hope for a president who will fight back.
Tehran has made it clear which candidate it believes will do so.
