Israel will always remember its neighbors in the future
The period leading up to the Hamas attack on October 7th was incredibly prosperous for Israel over the two decades. It had transformed from a troubled state dealing with high inflation and wars to a thriving global hub of economic and cultural success. The country’s economy doubled between 2010 and 2022, earning it the title of “start-up nation” with a booming tech sector valued at nearly $100 billion. With close to 10,000 tech firms and 150 listed on the NASDAQ, Israel became a significant player in the tech world after the US, China, and Canada.
Israel saw a record number of tourists, a flourishing culinary scene, and a vibrant cultural landscape before the Hamas attack. Architectural wonders in Tel Aviv by renowned architects like I.M. Pei and Richard Meier added to the city’s charm, while its Bauhaus architecture attracted design enthusiasts worldwide. Tel Aviv’s lively club scene and annual Pride Parade cemented its position as the top LGBT party capital.
Gal Gadot, known for her role in “Wonder Woman,” rose to Hollywood stardom, embodying Israeli cool and charm. Israeli TV shows like “Fauda” gained international popularity, reflecting the country’s strong production industry. Despite its successes, the onset of the Gaza war led to a series of unfortunate events that dimmed Israel’s global acceptance and prosperity.
As Israel faced mounting challenges from various terrorist groups and anti-Israel sentiments, its once peaceful and prosperous image began to fade. The celebration of normalcy turned into a harsh reality check as the nation grappled with political unrest, attacks, and global isolation. The fall from grace was swift and brutal, leaving the country in a state of uncertainty and fear.
Israeli luck seemed to be slipping away as the country faced mounting challenges and threats. Despite past success, Israel’s hubris and belief in normalcy proved to be its downfall as it battled against escalating conflicts and hostilities. As the nation struggled to regain its footing, the resolve to defend itself and maintain stability remained strong.
Israel’s resilience and determination to overcome adversity have been tested in the face of continued threats and challenges. The country is navigating a complex and dangerous landscape, proving that it will not back down and will always defend itself against those who seek to harm it.
