It would be a disservice for politicians to not attend the massive funeral of slain NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller.



Another fallen police officer in New York City will be laid to rest on Saturday.

Officer Jonathan Diller will be honored in a dignified ceremony, with police officers from across the country in attendance.

Following the funeral at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Massapequa, Officer Diller’s body will be carried to the cemetery, draped in the NYPD flag of green, white, and blue.

The flag will be ceremoniously folded and presented to his widow by uniformed police pallbearers.

A motorcade of hundreds of police motorcycles will lead the way to the cemetery.

As the procession begins, the NYPD bagpipers will play a solemn tune while the drummers beat a slow funeral march.

The casket containing Officer Diller’s body will be flanked by uniformed police officers from the ceremonial unit.

A Moving Tribute

Police officers lining the route will salute Officer Diller’s casket as it passes, accompanied by the haunting sound of the pipe band.

Civilians will show their respect by removing their hats and placing their hands over their hearts.

With the playing of a tune, the motorcade will make its way to the cemetery.

Attending a police officer’s funeral is an incredibly emotional experience that never fails to touch the heart.

By taking dangerous individuals off the streets, Officer Diller and his partner protected countless lives in New York City.

While some may not realize it, Officer Diller’s actions saved the lives of people he would never know.

Despite the dangers they face, police officers continue to serve and protect the community with selfless dedication.

Some police organizations have requested that politicians not attend Officer Diller’s funeral, but it is important for them to witness the sacrifices made by officers every day.

They should see the grieving faces of Officer Diller’s fellow officers as they bid him farewell, and reflect on the impact of their actions.

And then, they should consider the devastating consequences of their hostility towards law enforcement.
