It’s time for Minouche Shafik to step down as president of Columbia University
The Issue: Calls for Columbia University President Minouche Shafik to resign for her handling of protests.
I agree with The Post that Columbia University President Minouche Shafik should resign (“Shafik Must Go,” Editorial, April 23).
However, her resignation will not end the festering epidemic of antisemitism that is rapidly growing, not only in colleges and universities, but all over the United States.
I sometimes feel like I am in a time warp and living in Berlin, Germany, circa 1933.
I never believed I would live to see such antisemitism in America.
It is especially disturbing since Israel is being blamed for defending itself and fighting for its existence.
Until police are allowed to do their jobs and stop these hateful demonstrations, this ugliness will only continue to spread.

Yes, the heat is on the Columbia president, but also on right-minded Americans.
Most people are too young to remember Nazism and the Holocaust, but this is how it started.
Extremists on both sides must be dealt with, sooner rather than later.

When will these university presidents start doing their job: providing a safe place for students?
They keep trying to claim that hate speech is protected free speech.
It appears that Shafik didn’t learn any lessons from Harvard and Penn.
The trustees should give Shafik an ultimatum: Protect students and send a stronger message that protesters don’t run the campus or find another job.
The school should use police to demonstrate who is in charge.

As antisemitism spreads across major universities, removing Columbia’s president will change nothing, just as it didn’t when Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania changed leadership.
President Biden must condemn hate and violence aimed at Jewish students forcefully and unequivocally, especially when student organizations are praising terrorists.
This is far more important than concern for votes in Michigan.

The Issue: Developments in the hush money trial against former President Donald Trump.
One of the key witnesses in the hush money trial against former President Donald Trump is the old National Enquirer boss David Pecker (“Pecker’s a ‘killer’ for celebrities,” April 26).
How does the National Enquirer killing negative stories about Trump — to have a better chance at getting elected — differ at all from what the mainstream media does for President Biden every day?

As the first criminal trial of a former president continues, it’s becoming clear the prosecution’s case is weak and is only being pursued to tie up Trump and keep him off the campaign trail.
District Attorney Alvin Bragg has serial liar Michael Cohen as his star witness, demonstrating the veracity of their case.
I also expect future campaign interference trials against Trump to be forthcoming.
If anyone deserves to be the first ex-president to be a convicted felon, it’s Joe.

Trump keeps violating the gag order (“ ‘7 more’ gag order breaches: DA’s office,” April 19).
He can’t control his mouth or his temper and has instigated a riot.
What else does this jerk have to do before more people wake up and realize he shouldn’t be president?
When are the authorities going to come to their senses and lock this lunatic up?
After he starts World War III?
