Joe Biden Stumbles and Twirls on His Exit from the White House

In his final week as president, Joe Biden is embarking on a farewell tour filled with speeches aimed at enhancing his legacy.

This may seem like a challenging task under any circumstances, but given Biden’s history of missteps, his attempts are unraveling spectacularly.

Rather than improving his image, he’s inadvertently emphasizing the extent of his failures, further justifying voters’ decision to opt for Donald Trump.

Even as Biden portrays his administration as a success, a recent Gallup poll reveals a different story: A significant majority of Americans believe the country has regressed in several critical areas during his tenure.

These areas include federal debt, immigration, the economy, crime, and America’s global standing.

The differences are stark yet familiar.

For much of the past four years, the White House and Democrats have insisted on dismissing what Americans have observed firsthand.

Recall when Bidenomics was deemed successful, inflation was labeled as temporary, and the border was supposedly secure?

Perhaps the president and his party should have heeded public sentiment instead of attempting to mislead it.

Crossings to bear

Consider Exhibit A — the border. From Day One, Biden began fulfilling his campaign promise to dismantle the security measures he inherited from Trump.

You know, those allegedly racist, heartless barriers aimed at keeping out hardworking, innocent immigrant families who rightfully deserved to be here.

Immediately after taking the oath in which he vowed to unite the nation, Biden initiated division by welcoming an open-border policy.

In his first 100 days, he issued 94 executive orders related to immigration and border control, nearly all easing pathways for illegal crossings or complicating deportations.

“Come on in,” he implied, and they responded in droves.

A surge of asylum seekers quickly amassed in Mexico, and caravans formed across Central America in anticipation of Biden’s leniencies.

The outcome has been an unprecedented influx of foreigners that the nation has never before witnessed.

Biden’s administration reports over 12 million “encounters” with illegal crossers during his presidency.

This figure is four times the 3 million encounters recorded during Trump’s first term.

And this 12 million doesn’t even account for approximately 2 million additional “gotaways” who successfully entered the U.S. without detection.

New York and other major cities have effectively turned into “border towns” due to the unregulated influx, with state and local taxpayers footing the bill for housing, food, and healthcare.

Crime rates have also predictably surged.

Yet here was Biden on Monday, informing White House reporters that illegal immigration had dramatically decreased since his inauguration.

“Let’s clarify the facts about the border. When I became president, the numbers dropped significantly,” he asserted.

There was not a shred of truth to this claim, and fact-checkers would have gone into overdrive if Trump had made a statement of that magnitude.

But when it’s Biden, or any Democrat, the silence is deafening.

Foreign policy failures

The second stop on his disinformation tour came later on Monday with a foreign policy speech at the State Department.

Here, he once again attempted to rewrite history by asserting that America is stronger and adversaries are weaker due to his decisions and actions.

“Currently, in my perspective, thanks to our administration, the United States is winning the global competition,” he proclaimed.

It was courteous of him to phrase that as “in my view” since few share his perspective.

He also claimed, “I assembled one of the most capable foreign policy teams in American history,” which elicits laughter even among staunch Democrats who consider Secretary of State Antony Blinken and national security advisor Jake Sullivan as lacking competence.

The most significant decision Biden made was the sudden military withdrawal from Afghanistan.

This move is now widely regarded as a show of weakness that has only encouraged our adversaries and jeopardized our allies.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine and Iran’s activation of terror proxies against Israel are two such consequences.

Yet Biden continues to assert that the withdrawal was the “right thing to do,” only briefly acknowledging the 13 “brave service members whose lives were lost during the withdrawal.”

What he fails to mention is that his military leadership advised against a complete withdrawal.

Even the New York Times noted that he did not “acknowledge the Afghan allies who were left behind” or the fact that this withdrawal opened the door for the Taliban to regain control of the country.

Furthermore, it’s misleading to suggest that Iran has faced significant setbacks.

While it was Israel that, contrary to Biden’s preferences, managed to defeat Hamas and Hezbollah and dismantle Iran’s defense capabilities, leading to the ousting of Syrian dictator, Bashar al-Assad.

Although it’s true Biden supported Israel’s military, he simultaneously undermined the nation through micromanagement and public critiques of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A significant portion of that criticism appeared aimed at appeasing vehement antisemites who typically support Democrats, ultimately prolonging the conflict.

Blinken inadvertently admitted as much when he remarked to The Times that “Whenever there has been public daylight between the United States and Israel and the perception that pressure was growing on Israel… Hamas has pulled back from agreeing to a cease-fire and the release of hostages.”

He also expressed astonishment that amidst widespread criticism of Israel, “you hear virtually nothing from anyone since October 7 about Hamas.”

Stop the presses: Blinken’s views demonstrate a stunning lack of understanding regarding the Middle East and global dynamics.

Israel has consistently been Public Enemy No. 1 at the United Nations, while America stands as its best and at times its only ally. When that ally hesitates, as Biden and Blinken have done, Israel’s adversaries feel emboldened.

Finally, a fresh start

I hope that when Trump takes office, the White House will disclose transcripts and other data showing how Biden and Blinken constrained Israel’s actions in a war that could have been concluded months ago.

Unfortunately, Biden has at least three more speeches scheduled, including a primetime address on Wednesday night.

Brace yourself for more fabrications surrounding a record so poor that both he and his vice president could be dismissed. Thankfully, no amount of dishonesty will be able to change that.

Skews-wire shame at AP

The Associated Press has drifted so far left it seems unable to recover.

Under the “US News” section of its website, the once-reputable outlet features four main topics: Abortion, LGBTQ+, Shootings, and Immigration.

There’s little need to read the actual articles; just knowing the source reveals its bias.

Putting the con in congestion

Reader Colette Curry senses deceit. She remarks: “So Uber and Lyft contributed millions to our elected officials and lobbyists to legalize congestion tolling. It only reinforces the notion that New York has the finest politicians money can buy!”
