Joe Biden’s memory lapse on Oct. 7 contrasts with Israelis’ unwavering recollection
Joe Biden and many Western politicians seem to have forgotten the events of Oct. 7, but the people of Israel cannot.
On May 27, in the Negev Desert in southern Israel, I spoke with a survivor of Hamas’ brutal attack.
Tali was dancing at the Nova music festival when the terrorists attacked.
With luck on her side, she found a hiding spot and remained undetected by the terrorists.
However, she heard the horror of what unfolded just nearby.
Tali listened as the men pursued and attacked the women she had been dancing with moments before.
She heard their pleas for help and the gunshots that ended their lives.
When the attackers left, Tali emerged from hiding to a scene of unimaginable horror.
Her friends and fellow concertgoers had been brutally slain.
Many women had been subjected to unspeakable violence.
Tali, a trained nurse, did her best to help the survivors in any way she could.
Some victims had been instructed by their parents to hide under the deceased during the attack.
The same terrorists had gone on to commit similar atrocities in the region.
Visiting Nir Oz, a formerly picturesque kibbutz now in ruins, I witnessed the remains of neighbors who had been tortured and burned alive.
These terrorists have vowed to strike again.
It is imperative for Israel to eliminate Hamas, defeat the terrorists, and bring every hostage back home to their families.
This includes the eight Americans still held captive in Gaza, five of whom are known to be alive.
Instead of standing with Israel against these terrorists, President Biden and some members of Congress are withholding support, punishing Israel, and pushing for a cease-fire.
A cease-fire equates to defeat and gives the terrorists a chance to regroup and continue their mission of destroying Israel.
Politicians like Joe Biden are downplaying the events of Oct. 7, but for those who have seen the aftermath and heard the survivors’ stories, the reality cannot be ignored.
Supporting Israel is crucial to preventing such tragedies from happening again, both in Israel and America.
It is clear that Joe Biden is failing both nations by not standing against common enemies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.
By enabling Iran to escalate with its hostile actions and nuclear ambitions, Biden is putting both American and Israeli lives at risk.
It is essential to partner with Israel to combat these threats and defend against Iran’s aggression.
Our leaders need to remember the lessons of past tragedies and support Israel in their fight for survival.
Together, we can ensure justice prevails and future atrocities are prevented.
