Joe Biden’s struggling campaign moves forward as Donald Trump faces trial
The trial of Donald Trump in Manhattan is set to begin this week, and it’s clear that prosecutors and the judge are guilty of election interference.
This assertion is supported by The New York Times.
Although not explicitly stated, a headline in The New York Times on Friday suggested the injustice with the phrase: “Trump on Trial vs. Biden on the Trail: An Unusual 2024 Stretch Begins.”
Describing the situation as “Unusual” is a mild way to portray the unfairness of allowing the incumbent to campaign freely using Air Force One while the challenger is constrained by a manipulated criminal trial.
Other more fitting words that could have been used include “outrageous” and “corrupt.”
These terms reflect the Democrats’ attempt to tilt the election in Biden’s favor by misusing law enforcement and the judicial system.
Their objective includes restraining Trump, tarnishing his reputation, bankrupting him, and imprisoning him.
Their efforts have only failed in removing him from election ballots due to the Supreme Court’s rejection.
During his visit to Pennsylvania, Biden exploited this advantage and launched scathing attacks on his incapacitated opponent.
He visited his childhood hometown of Scranton, paralleling Abe Lincoln’s log cabin, where he differentiated between “Scranton values or Mar-a-Lago values,” according to The Times.
Questionable appeal to voters
It raises questions about the values associated with Biden’s family, the millions received in questionable finances from China, and other hostile nations.
Unfortunately, The Times did not investigate these matters.
In Philadelphia, the newspaper reported that Biden linked Trump’s vision of “anger, hate, revenge, and retribution” to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy using endorsements from the Kennedy family.
Although this tactic is below the belt, The Times refrained from criticizing Biden.
Imagine if Trump had done the same.
This behavior mirrors that of banana republics and is no longer a distant concern.
Americans now face the type of election manipulation typically associated with corrupt regimes.
Amid conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, a stable and trustworthy democracy like the one America once had is needed.
However, the Trump cases depict a dark era where governmental power is exploited openly for political gain.
The Manhattan charges are glaringly fabricated, making it hard to believe the trial is legitimate.
Prior to the indictment, I assumed the trial was merely a product of MSNBC’s imagination and would never materialize.
Even after the charges were filed, I hoped that New York courts would be impartial and dismiss the case.
For instance, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg did not explain how minor bookkeeping violations in 2016 escalated to felony charges today.
However, hopes for a fair trial vanished when state Attorney General Letitia James pursued her baseless civil case against the former president.
Her campaign promise to target Trump should have been enough to dismiss the case, but it proceeded to court. The judge inflated the claimed damages to nearly $500 million without any victims in the case.
Questionable actions by Letitia James
While James contemplated seizing Trump’s properties, a hint of rationality emerged when the bond amount was reduced from the full sum to $175 million by an appeals court.
However, this reduction ignited further fury in James, who now challenges the bond company’s ability to cover the reduced amount and demands a new insurer or default to seize Trump’s properties.
In a city plagued by escalating violence and fleeing residents, its top prosecutors are fixated on pursuing their political rival instead of addressing pressing issues.
The judge in the Manhattan case, Justice Juan M. Merchan, has raised concerns due to his daughter’s ties to a Democratic activist, fueling suspicions of bias.
Although a conflict of interest is clear, Merchan declined to recuse himself, highlighting a lack of regard for a fair trial and public trust in the judicial system by the media.
These distortion tactics are not novel, with the Democrats continuously resorting to smearing their opponents outside of the electoral process.
While the left’s initial politicization in the 2016 Russia collusion narrative failed to influence the election, subsequent actions have been relentless, including the ongoing Manhattan trial.
Abused by three prosecutors and the Federal Election Commission as a weak case, it was only revived when Bragg succumbed to leftist pressure.
Political maneuvers
This unprecedented action does not seem to raise concerns in the media, despite America never having indicted a former president for over 44 terms.
However, Trump’s case is unique, facing four criminal trials and a civil case from Democrats.
Yet, he is painted as the threat to democracy.
While Trump may not be flawless, there is no evidence of him leveraging power to prosecute opponents during his tenure.
In contrast, it was reported two years ago that Biden urged Attorney General Merrick Garland to go after Trump, resulting in dual indictments.
These actions aimed to constrain Biden’s opponent and tarnish his image, regardless of the trial’s outcome, illustrating a partisan strategy embraced by the media.
For example, The Times’ recent story describes Biden as a typical presidential candidate on the campaign trail and Trump as a criminal defendant in court.
Their mission is accomplished.
