Joe Scarborough and left-wing warnings of ‘civil war’ exacerbate societal divisions
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough had a passionate outburst on Monday morning regarding the perceived threat of a “civil war”; it seems discussing the actual election issues doesn’t boost his ratings.
Perhaps he believes his team is losing based on merit.
According to Scarborough, Donald Trump and his family are “preparing for civil war,” as expressed in a recent fuming speech analyzing weekend speeches by the former president and running mate J.D. Vance, where Trump mentioned the various challenges he has faced.
It is undeniable that those challenges have occurred.
It is fair game to highlight them, as any Democrat facing such challenges would likely do the same.
Scarborough isn’t the only one raising concerns: President Biden himself recently hinted at potential unrest in the upcoming presidential election, stating, “I don’t know whether it will be peaceful.”
Is it really responsible for the nation’s highest leader to suggest that Democrats prepare for a physical war they believe Republicans are planning?
Although Jan. 6 was a serious event, it did not constitute a true insurrection, and there is no indication that such events will occur again this year.
These warnings are akin to Democrats’ hyperbolic claims that a Trump victory would signal the end of democracy — claims that have unfortunately incited actual assassination attempts on Trump.
If anything, it is the Democrats who have undermined democracy through manipulative use of the legal system to bankrupt and even imprison their political opponents.
The Harris-Biden administration has openly flouted Congress and the law regarding multiple important issues.
By attempting to control the narrative through censorship of “misinformation,” they are infringing upon free speech, a fundamental pillar of democracy.
They are also pushing to expand the Supreme Court.
While unable to campaign on their record, which has been detrimental to the country, they resort to fear-mongering.
If the left truly cared about the nation’s future, they would engage in policy debates, even if they appear to be on the losing side.
