Josh Shapiro Escapes Fire-Assassination Attempt—The Left Must Acknowledge Its Role in Political Violence
The recent arson incident at Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s residence is just one example of the political violence that has been escalating across the country for the last five years, fueled by leftist ideologies.
Fortunately, Shapiro and his family were not harmed, and suspect Cody Balmer is now in custody.
Balmer exhibits clear signs of mental instability and labels himself a “socialist” on social media, where he shares a variety of extreme left-wing views.
The normalization of violence by the extreme left can be traced back to 2020, when protests in Minneapolis over George Floyd’s death escalated into violent riots across the nation during the pandemic and lockdowns.
Did national Democrats reject the violent perpetrators?
On the contrary, they embraced and celebrated them: We are in a state of emergency caused by Donald Trump, so anything goes!
This acceptance has persisted to this day.
Take note of the violent attacks against pro-life organizations and the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh surrounding the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which were incited by violent rhetoric from figures like Sen. Chuck Schumer regarding Kavanaugh and Justice Neil Gorsuch.
Consider the widespread attempts to downplay and ridicule the near-assassination of Donald Trump during his campaign.
Notice the admiration shown by Democratic figures from AOC to former Rep. Jamal Bowman and President Joe Biden towards violent, anti-Semitic groups spreading hate on college campuses in support of Hamas and its brutal attacks on October 7.
Observe the anti-Tesla terrorism, which has involved everything from Molotov cocktails to vandalism targeting Elon Musk simply because Democrats oppose him.
And take note of the disturbing response to the cold-blooded murder of UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, where thousands of individuals on Reddit rallied around killer Luigi Mangione, funding his legal defense and praising him in the comments.
Just this past weekend, CNN broadcast a glowing interview with influencer and former New York Times/Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz, who indirectly celebrated Mangione as someone who “seems like this morally good man.”
The term “justice” is often employed by the left to mask the primal, violent impulses that motivate a significant segment of its base.
True justice is far removed from the reality perceived by ordinary Americans.
The real question remains: Do Democrats recognize this?
