Justin Timberlake’s refusal to apologize makes him ‘difficult to love’
The “Forget Tomorrow World Tour” by Justin Timberlake might as well be called the “Forget Yesterday When I Got a DWI Tour.”
Nearly a week has passed since the singer was arrested.
No word from him about allegedly getting drunk at a Hamptons hotspot, running a stop sign, and getting arrested by a clueless cop who had no idea he was arresting a famous singer.
Instead, he took the stage in Chicago and turned his recent troubles into a self-centered display.
“It’s been a tough week,” Timberlake addressed the crowd. “I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me back.”
Enough with the pity party. Show some accountability for your actions.
Stop the crocodile tears.
He’s hard to love because he refuses to admit his mistake.
With the microphone in hand on stage, why not show some remorse or warn others not to repeat his mistake?
In a time when ride-share services are abundant, Timberlake’s actions seem reckless and selfish.
Considering his wealth, he could easily afford a driver, making his decision even more incomprehensible.
Enjoy a drink, get drunk, but be responsible afterwards. Call a car service to get home safely.
The arresting officer even reportedly warned Timberlake not to drive, but arrogance and entitlement clouded his judgment.
Despite his fortunate outcome, Timberlake’s behavior could have had disastrous consequences.
His recklessness could have led to tragedy, landing him in a very different kind of tour.
The cop deserves recognition for preventing a potential disaster.
This situation couldn’t have come at a worse time for Timberlake, given recent struggles with album sales and concert attendance.
His past actions have also alienated many fans, tarnishing his image.
While his past relationship issues may be forgiven, a DWI is a serious offense that should not be glossed over.
It’s time for Timberlake to grow up and act responsibly like the rest of us.
