Kamala Harris’ $5 billion green bus project failure highlights her lack of ability to manage smaller initiatives.

Presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has a record of failure, much like President Biden. From the border crisis to small issues, her track record is one of spectacular failure.

A recent example is a failed green school-bus initiative.

In 2022, Harris praised a plan to spend around $5 billion over five years to expand electric school-bus fleets as part of Biden’s infrastructure package. However, fewer than 7% of the districts involved have completed the switch to electric vehicles.

Many districts have withdrawn due to opposition from school boards or the high costs of necessary infrastructure upgrades to charge the buses.

According to one superintendent, “This only makes economic sense if the bus is paid for with a grant like we received. The cost is so prohibitive that the cost savings are not worth it.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported that electric buses are three times more expensive, and replacing the entire national fleet would cost over $200 billion.

It’s concerning that Harris would support funneling billions to districts facing these challenges while America’s education system is already struggling.

Despite her intentions, Harris and the Biden administration failed to manage the program effectively, yet continued to provide funding.

Harris claimed health issues affecting “the ability to learn” as a reason to switch from diesel fuel for school buses. However, it seems like she and her colleagues may have been affected by the fumes themselves.
