Kamala Harris is making every effort to lose crucial Pennsylvania
Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are facing a Pennsylvania problem.
Awareness of this issue has finally reached Harris, her team, and national Democrats. However, the question remains: is this realization coming too late? And can they rectify the situation?
Following President Biden’s lackluster debate performance in June, it became evident to the nation that he is aging and struggling to lead effectively. Polls confirmed this sentiment, prompting action from national Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and Team Harris.
Something had to change. The “Democratic Politburo” made the decision on behalf of 75 million Democratic voters: out with “Uncle Joe,” and in with the new and improved candidate, Kamala Harris.
What Harris and national Democrats failed to recognize was that while this may have been a necessary national strategy, it was a disastrous Pennsylvania strategy. In 2024, winning the presidency hinges on securing Pennsylvania, especially for a Democrat.
The initial misstep for Harris and her team was taking the Keystone State for granted. Biden’s connections to Scranton and his fondness for sharing family stories from the area helped secure numerous Democratic votes in northeastern Pennsylvania, which is increasingly leaning red. Removing Biden from the equation leaves Harris at a disadvantage in retaining these voters.

Harris and the national Democrats either severely miscalculated, or they believe that their candidate’s record and platform are inconsequential.
Is it ignorance or arrogance? Or has the Democrats’ strategy shifted towards simply collecting votes for a “brand”? The outcome will provide insight not only into the winner of the 2024 presidency but also into the battle for Pennsylvania in the years to come.
