Kamala Harris’ Letter-Filled Interview with Fox News
The Issue: Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with Fox News host Bret Baier
Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent interview on Fox News left many disappointed as it failed to provide insight into her stance on important issues facing Americans (“Baier claws Kamala,” Oct. 17).
Throughout the interview with Bret Baier, Harris appeared to be filibustering and evading direct questions about her potential actions as president. Instead, she emphasized the dangers of former President Donald Trump to democracy, despite his previous term being considered successful.

Baier missed opportunities to challenge Harris on key issues such as immigration and the border, allowing her to deflect blame towards Trump for certain failures.
He also failed to push back on her Middle East policy, which critics argue has emboldened Iran. By not effectively challenging her, Harris was able to come across as the winner in the interview (albeit partially).

Instead of focusing on Harris’ lack of answers, The Post should consider Baier’s role in not asking the right questions. It seemed like he approached the interview with a bias against Harris, but she effectively defended herself, surpassing the low expectations set by Fox News.
Harris utilized tactics such as speaking over Baier and redirecting questions to avoid addressing certain issues directly. She sidestepped questions about illegal immigration and taxpayer-funded operations for incarcerated migrants, instead pivoting to criticisms of Trump’s fitness for office.

Harris’ performance in the interview was seen as disappointing and lacking substance by some viewers. While Baier attempted to keep the interview focused, Harris consistently used Trump as a shield to avoid engaging in meaningful discussions. Some expressed concerns about her potential as a future president.

Baier’s interview style with Harris was criticized by some as biased, with Fox News appearing to favor Harris’ opponent. While some felt Baier was overly aggressive, others appreciated Harris’ responses and vision for America.
If Baier had approached Trump in a similar manner, some argue he would have faced backlash. There are concerns about Fox News prioritizing the Republican party over the interests of the American people.

Harris used phrases like “let me be clear” to preface her answers during the interview, but her responses lacked clarity on important issues. Some speculated that Harris may be avoiding direct answers to appeal to a wider audience.
