Kamala Harris openly vows mass amnesty and increased illegal immigration, Dems reveal

Senator Elizabeth Warren, a progressive democrat, advocated for comprehensive immigration reform on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday. She called for a pathway to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants, hinting that a potential President Kamala Harris would work towards achieving this.

This push for amnesty by Democrats is not a new concept. The Biden-Harris administration’s early actions included a proposed “U.S. Citizenship Act” that would provide a path to citizenship for most illegal immigrants, as well as weaken immigration enforcement and increase legal immigration.

Despite efforts by congressional Democrats to pass an amnesty bill, including utilizing budget reconciliation methods, these attempts were hindered by various factors. Senator Chuck Schumer, in 2022, demanded an amnesty for “Dreamers,” with the ultimate goal being a pathway to citizenship for all illegal immigrants in the country.

The last major amnesty was passed in 1986 on bipartisan grounds, but the promise of increased enforcement was not fulfilled. If Kamala Harris becomes president and Democrats gain control, a similar push for amnesty is expected.
